seriously guys, be rational for a minute or two (quite a big ask for you guys if you ask me, but still, no harm in trying ), do you guys really believe - from the heart of your bottom - that nano could give a tough time to IG once the latter is released.. mind you, they're even planning a hybrid variant to be released by 2015.. do you guys think that your fugly nano would stand any chance against the cutie pie IG?

And once you've given those factors a thought, you could continue to be irrational as usual..

Oh and BTW I'm a researcher too..I help auto companies choose appropriate names for their models.. So, I believe that instead of nano, tata should have called their car "Chambeli", "Sharmeli", or you know, something along the same lines - in line with the character of the car... would have struck a chord with the local masses in a much better way..

See the car, and tell me in all honesty, if "Chambeli" wouldn't have been a more apt moniker for it..

Where did I say anything of that sort? If you go through my earlier posts, I said that the concept looks way better than Nano, heck it looks better than Fortwo or IQ for me. I called the Nano a "trend setter" precisely for this reason, it made companies around the world realize that a car can be made at this price point and there exists a market. It may not be a looker and devoid of hitech gadgetry, but provides basic safety and all weather transport for the poor masses of our country. Now every other volume player worth its salt, from Maruti to Renault to VW, are trying to come out with something in this slot. As competition increases these cars will look and perform better (as demonstrated by the IG concept) and ultimately the customer will benefit.

rightly said, however its not the Geely IG alone, there is an array of such small cars soon to appear from Chinese soil, Haima ME and Chery M2 have already appeared on media (price haven't been disclosed as yet) and there was a huge display of such concepts from several manufacturers at the recent Beijing Auto Show.. so the Nano will be facing a severe competition in a couple of years but i do believe TATA will come up with an update before that!

I feel that TATA India way batter than other.because concept of TATA Nano India is provide security for famaily member (Minimum 4 member)lower middle income group those could not afford to buy car and complail to travling by bikes in India. For this purpose we have Nano.
