Hi,

I have a 6kW sanco generator. My ATS have settings to cut (change over) power if the voltage is higher then 250v. All works well but the issue is when my AC starts the voltage from generator goes to 245-255 for a split second. This makes ATS to shut power from generator.
Now I can not use the AC on generator. The electrician I asked says it is because of AVR in generator and I have to adjust it.
Can you guys confirm if the this is the right cause and how can I adjust the AVR on generator so it doesnt go over 250? or any other possible solution?

What happens is that as the AC compressor turns on it puts load on the generator and in turn the generators frequency drops to around 40 for a split second and than recovers back to close to 50 hz. As the frequency drops the voltage increases and hence the voltage cutoff in AVR works. Now you have 3 options
1 Change the AVR with local one that does not have that cutoff
2 Drop the output voltage so that even in case of frequency loss the voltage remains under 250
3 Dont do cher char with AVR just increase the frequency slightly by about 0.5 HZ so that the frequency drop is not that much to increase the voltage above 250

How can I do 2 and 3? I do not know how to drop the voltage or increase the frequency and from where it will be done.

is it available? i guess you have to design a custom frame for it then connect it with generator winding..

price range is from 1800 to 2450

i prefer KADA brand 2450 rupees because of good quality and better seal that prevents leakage and can be easily repaired, you can operate for more than 16 hours continuously.
where as other brands of cheap price and quality leaks gas and heat up, which results in high gas bill and rewinding damage of air pump.

Just wanted to inquire, what is the oil change interval for these air cooled generators. Initially change the oil on 30 hours and now intend to do it after every 100 hours as this is such a waste of money, as only color has changed but lubrication seems so ok.

I use Total engine oil, reason is because it is very light in colour, and easy to tell when it goes dark.
I change my oil after 60 hours, and i usually check engine oil every other 3 days, sometimes i have to top it up.
I always buy 0.7 ltr and a 1ltr bottle. 1 Ltr to change, and 0.7 to top it up, and lubricate locks, door hinges etc

Currently i have an Angel generator, 6200 watt so 5kv i assume.

Gonna visit market tomorrow, but when i buy it, what do i have to do? just add pipe from gas line to input, and pipe from output to generator? or do i have to do some tweaks...:O?

And what if gas pressure increases to full(from Sui gas) is there a chance of it blowing up etc.?

1. one more tweak required, grip from heater to the card(circuit) must be unpluged.
2. only condition of blown up is , blockage to input or output pipe line, means if valve is close weather at input or output.
   due to blockage the pressure will start building up on the air pump which results into heatup and then winding is heated.
   I prefer KADA on others because of good quality, that air pump last time resist 3 hours of continuous blockage and still working fine, nothing happened.
3. incase if gas pressure is full just turn switch off and gas will pass through the pump with little resistance in passage.

if you want full pressure best practice is to do bridge connections of gas pipes.

Where did u buy digital delay timer and hour meter?
I was unable to find them on hall road one shop owner was giving digita timer like yours second hand it was 4 to 5 inch in length and he was asking 2500 for it.

dear all i have a problem here my generator engine was giving heavy smoke overhauled it all by my self everything went fine now the problem is that it is giving smoke from breather pipe and smoke increases as it becomes hot is the problem with the valves/head now

thats spark plug problem . fix its gap using feeler gauge 0.4mm
