got tappet clearnce done yestarday , kept exhaust valve at 0.08mm and intake at 0,05mm and also replaced spark plug with new one

Please don't over increase the RPM. You can burn your appliances on generator. Adjust the rpm by using hertz meter also known as hour meter. And set the values to 50hz at 220volts.
You can increase RPM to 60 hz maximum. No more than that. Or generator will burn itself or appliances it is running. If Gas doesn't work even on 60 hz of RPM then u need to chexk the gas path and pipes provided your engine is in good condition and properly tunned.

Its normal. Since we have varying gas pressures and we ourselves too are not able to adjust gas amount to start a cold engine on gas. So its normal what you are having.

Piston rings installation details are skipped. Most of generator mechanics are unaware about piston ring positioning with respect to engine design. So, many people repair their generator engine but after repair,exhaust carbon and smoke. And after few week of use people face head and valve problem with lot of burnt oil in combustion chamber and around valves. all problems base is wrong ring position. Other wise perfect oil change and right overhauling engine should run for years without major repair.
ATS should be Use microcontroller based. With solinoid valve and it special circuitry.
Don't process ur gaskit as mentioned above this is actually huge gas leak. Adjust it with adjusting nuts only don't modify it.

My gen Lutian 3600ES previously was starting on GAS without Petrol,but after changing the valves,Now its not starting on GAS.Whenever i need to start the engine,I put some petrol in the fuel pipe and start it after starting I used to convert it on GAS.Can any one please tell me what could be the issue?Thanks!

I have RATO generator 2.5 kv running on both petrol and CNG. Last week while running on Petrol suddenly it stopped giving electric output. I checked with the mechanic and he checked AVR and coil. And diagnosed that the dynamo coil is burnt. I had him to re-wind the copper coil. After that it started working and producing electricity.

But now after 4 days of that repair, my generator is not taking load even on Petrol. Even I try to start it from kick the kick feels so heavy as it something is jamming it. I try to kick by putting extra force and it starts on Petrol but vibrates giving a feel that there's heavy load been put on it but in fact it runs idle and vibrating. Putting the load cause it to shutdown.

Any iideas why the generator is behaving like this?

One mechanic said the coil which was winded is short that's why it is not taking load.

Please help if anyone knows the problem. Jazakumallah!

Hi. I am going through this amazing thread and reading all the posts from the start and have reached around 20 pages or so only. Some really good info provided here which i plan to use for future if i decide to overhaul the engine and definitely for the ATS.

i have a kipor 2.5 kva generator which is working fine now. recently changed its AVR and adjusted it myself (with the help of your thread) to give a proper 220volt output. the issue that i am facing is that to start the generator on NG, i have to keep the choke button on the kit (global kit) for around 8-10 seconds and then use the kick starter 4-5 times after which it starts. on petrol it starts immediately on first kick. how do i fix it to start on first kick? and where can i get that other type of kit with the adjustable idle settings? Secondly can you give me a parts list for the ATS with time delay circuit? i already have an auto off system installed with the generator. thank you

Did u adjust the spark plug gap at .4mm?

i got the spark plug from my mechanic and he did adjust it. dont know if its .4 mm or not. cant find a feeler gauge anywhere

u can buy feeler guage from any big hardware store or u can take your spark plug to nearby workshop to get its gap adjusted to 0.4mm.

Salam to All,
Someone knows about Lancer Generators. My uncle has bought it today and I want to know the quality and performance of the Lancer. Because when I first started it on Petrol on No Load the governor arm was not stable it was moving back and forth but the generator was not vibrating. The condition was same like when generator was out of fuel but I had enough fuel.

Can somebody help me?

Minor movement is OK. Though it can be reduced by correcting the carb. mixture but lets be easy on it. Minor movements are not to be worried about
