Salam,
I am the owner of this generator since 2012 and I have never had any complaint until yesterday and my problem is peculiar in its own way. the generator is reducing oil with such pace that it shuts down after 3-4 hours and I need to refill almost 200ml oil to make it up to the mark.
There is no sign of any smoke or visible leak, which is my concern as I am unable to trace the source of oil leakage or reduction. Kindly tell me what could be the problem? generator is not giving ANY SORT OF SMOKE :S

Yes natural gas and havoline. its reducing almost 300ml in every 4 hours without any smoke....!

I am new to generators and since this was the only thread i could find so decided to put my query here. I intend to buy a generator for myself. The load of my house is not that much as its a 5 marla house, two fans, a tv, one computer with an 32" lcd, one fridge and 3 to 4 lights which are mixed of Led (5watts) and energy savers 20 watts and a 700 watt UPS. I dont intend to use ACs on it but from the manual it seems it can support 1.5 ton AC along with other full load.
My credit card is offering me Homage 6 KVA generator markup free. Now i wish to ask two things

1) There are two types one is with ATS and the other one Non ATS (Non version being cheaper about RS 8000) Which version should i prefer?
2) Is anybody using homage generators? How do they preform? I have used homage inverter and i did not had any problem with that but generator is ofcourse a much bigger thing and more money is involved.

ALHAMDOLILLAH i have a loncin 3.5 kva generator running fine except the noise..is there any way to reduce the noise - it is an air cooled machine.

Plus what do you suggest for a 6 kw load requirement - i have a single meter installed at my house and the unit rates multiplies at the end of the month so i want to put some load on generator for around 6~8 hours. how much a good sound proof engine will cost me and what will the maintenance expenses per turn.

This is a bad idea, the maintenance cost of the generator will outdo the cost of electricity from KESC manifold. THe generator is strickly a backup device. Since it is air-cooled, it is not meant to be the primary source. Its parts will depreciate very quickly with such continuous running.

A generator that is made to run long hours is first of all water cooled so the engine temperature remains constant no matter how long it is run.

water cooled you will get in bigger capacity and would cost second hand 100K and upwards. They will be in silent canopy.

can anybody please tell me prices of 196cc engine? I want to replace mine as mechanic is unable to overhaul it in proper manner. seals and rings are breaking after every 2 3 hours.. its 2.5-2.7 kva generator btw and I am from Lahore.

my genset shuts off when i put load on it while running on ng
it runs perfect on petrol with load
but on ng it starts smoothly
but when i put load gen shuts of suddenly
every trick tried ie half choke adjustment t valve adjustment governer arm working etc etc
but failed
experts please tell me that whats the actual problm

Did u check the oil levels?

Adjust spark plug gap at 0.4mm.
