Well Noise is like lose tappets goes away in 2 or 3 mins. But if you accelerate the engine when RPM comes back if you go close to engine you can again hear the same noise. I had similar noise in Charade and that was fixed when piston pins were replaced.

there are hyderaulic lifters in m13a too,can the shims only be changed or not,i have got the engine with tooled shims already,mechanic persists on changing valves complete but i am not doing this right now as car runs super fine with them except a little noise as waqas is mentioning.

A good proper overhaul is always better than a kabli.

Kabli ki halat apko nae pata. On a rebuild, a proper one atleast ... that is going by the book/manual you KNOW what you are going to get.

I rebuild my GTti engine. It had a slight rattle from one big end bearing. The rebuilt engine bottom end only performed way way better, both on power and economy. Lasted as long as I had it easy ... agay jakar dusron nay kia kara ho pata nae. Heard it got busted ... and im damn sure its because of overheating + bad oil. Turbo cars need a bit of extra care.

in Pakistan rebuilding an engine is considered bad because our mechanics think that they are better than the book - e.g. replacing the head gasket on a 1KD engine or even a Nissan CD17 engine warrants that new head bolts should be used as the old ones are probably stretched by now, nopes - our mechanics would use a washer under the bolt head and claim its reusable - hehe -poor souls dont know that the patch is as good as putting burnol on a wound and not covering it,
