Genuine tyre?

Hello friends,
I want to change tyres of my car. Please guide me how to identify genuine tyres which are not shelf expired.
Car Honda City 2015
Driven 51000 on stock Euro Star tyres 175/65/R15
Required size 185/65/R15

Please tell how to identify original tyre.
Please suggest some shop in Rawalpindi/ Islamabad
Please tell which company is better: Michelin, Bridgestone, Dunlop, Yokohama, continental?

There is a 4 digit dot code on the tyres. The first 2 digits refer to the week of production while the last 2 digits refer to the year of manufacture. For example, a Tyre having dot code 3519 means that the Tyre was manufactured in the 35th week of 2019.

For legal imported tyre its only available at tyre point Metro but only yokos and other option are many outlets in blue for example khan tyres discount tyre japan tyre and unique tyre however 90% + tyre overthere are smuggled( afghan transit) depending on physical inspection and manufacturing date they also work quite good. Lastly recommended would be yokohama advan db v552 and continental cc6 the best option available at rate around 10-5k to 11k per tyre.

Thank you. I would prefer going to tyre point as the tyre will be genuine. Is their outlet inside a Metro Cash and carry or close to it?

Their outlet is right beside NAB office too. I purchased continental cc6 185/65 3 months ago from them and they are superb.
4 tyres costed me PKR 52,000/-.
Yokohama Advan db v552 were costing 48000/- but it was manufactured in December 2018. Whereas continental were freshly manufactured.

Brother as far as I know about 03 leading tires brands, Sheikh Brothers are the sole and legitimate importers of Yokohama Passenger cars tires in Pakistan ( https://yokohama.com.pk/dir/ ), Pakistan Rubber & Tyres Company (PRTC) for Bridgestone and 100% genuine and original, LENSO Rims, made in Thailand ( http://www.prtc.net.pk/ ), and Zafar Enterprises for Michelin ( http://www.zafarenterprises.enic.pk/ )

You can first select a brand (I would strongly suggest Michelin, then Bridgestone. Yokohama would be my last recommendation. Dunlop may be avoided.) and then call on the given nos. You can get the information from the links I have given. Ask them about their authorised dealers in your city, and also, how to identify a properly imported, non-smuggled tyre? They will very happily assist and guide you, and may be; if there is possibility, you can even ask them to deposit amount in their company's account, and they ship freshly imported tires at the address you provide. I think, It can be the best option.

Tyre Point, whether in Metro I-11 Islamabad, or at Metro outlets in Lahore, etc. sell 100% genuine and original, legally imported, non-smuggled tyres. If you wanna go hassle free, Its the best option.

Its inside Metro. As soon as you enter Metro I-11 Islamabad, after getting your smartphone, wallet, etc. scanned, their outlet is just to the left.

Khaaeer... Ye itna mushkil kaam b nai hai. Aap wahan p kisi sey b puch saktay hain! They will guide you, however, do look for the manufacturing year and week before buying tyres.

For Bridgestone, links / addresses are given on the website. For Michelin and Yokohama, you will have to contact companies to get details.

Once I contacted Yokohama Pk, when I was in the process of buying tyres for my ride. They referred me to Speed tyres in Faisal Town, Lahore. On further digging, it was found that their authorised dealers in twin cities were using the name of Yokohama official Pakistan, however, were selling smuggled tyres in their name. Accordingly, their dealerships were cancelled by the company.

I would rate as following (considering all factors):
1. Michelin
2. Bridgestone
3. Continental
4. Yokohama
5. Dunlop

Thank you. But, why have you put Yoko at number four. Everyone else is hot after Yoko. If you have some time then please tell little detail for this priority order. Lastly what brands out of these area available at Tyre Point.

I will rate them as
1. Continental
2. Yokohama
3. Michelin
4. Bridgestone
5. Dunlop

And tyre point has continentals, yokohamas, dunlop for sure. I'm not sure about others.

So tyre point is the only place where you can be sure that you’re buying the original non smuggled stuff

There are other options too but tyre point is a reliable source. Rest you should check tyres yourself before you purchase.

You will have to check for the availability of these brands at Tyre Point. You can either call them before making a visit, or visit and then make some purchase decision based on the tyre size and brand you select.

My rating was:

Michelin and Bridgestone, for reliability, comfort and max sales figures in the world. These 2 brands fall No. 1 and 2 globally. Then comes Continental.

Regarding Yokohama Advan dB, this tyre is extremely soft and have very soft Sidewall and Tread. Accordingly, the tyre is very prone to punctures, wobbling, etc. Many owners had complained about this, but no doubt, the tyre is extremely noiseless but at the same time, wear rate is quite high. The tyre is unfit for our road conditions.

Regarding Dunlop; its hard, noisy, stiff and uncomfortable tyre. Its just like General tyre for rest of the world.

This all is based on my opinion, and on feedback from users, content available on internet, etc. Others can fully disagree, and I will respect it.

Btw, you can also search on the internet, which brands are good, and which aren't.

And dunlop series available in Pak are even worst than general tyres.
