Mohtaram Ravager Sahib,
You may be an army brat but I've been IN the army. I know the institution inside out. One cannot illegally sell any pup from the Army Dog Centre. One bad move in the army and you get yourself busted for good, no second chances there, that's the quality of discipline in the army.
My points are as under:
1. When an army female dog gets pregnant and is close to her date of delivery, it is transported to the radiology department located in the Army Dog Centre and gets her ultrasonography done where her pups are counted (before birth). When the delivery takes place the pups are counted again and matched with the number seen at her preterm ultrasonogram. The colour and identification marks are logged. If you think anyone can report lesser number of pups and get away with it, forget it! Yay Pak Army hy, koi mazak nahee hy.
2. I've visited the Army Dog Centre several times including taking my female dogs for mating with the studs. I've seen their dogs and the quality is outstanding.
3. Coming to whether they are show quality or not: Not all dogs are show quality out of any litter just like not all siblings are beautiful out of a beautiful couple in humans.
4. It all comes down to bloodlines. Army Dog Centre dogs are 100% West German bloodline. They are carefully bred and the stud book is recorded and maintained. The army spends millions of bucks on their dogs and they are wise enough not to spend money on trash.
5. Army Dog Centre dogs are assigned particular tasks like some are lifeguards (excellent swimmers), others are with certain specialities; avalanche rescue dogs, mine detecting dogs, messenger dogs used in wartime. Each dog has its own speciality; Horses for courses actually.
6. You choose a dog in the Army Dog Centre by its capability to work and not by its looks as you would do to choose a dog for a dog show; but you can if you want, for the bloodline is 100% pure when we talk about dogs of Pak Army. All dogs in Army Dog Centre are registered with KCP (Kennal Club of Pakistan).
7. If you think that the staff at the Army Dog Centre is playing foul, then you are horribly mistaken. The facility is heavily guarded and strict discipline is followed.
8. The staff there is highly trained and very cooperative and will arrange for you pups from outside the Dog Centre, for they are in touch with private breeders. They also know breeders who have lawfully acquired retired Army Dog Centre brood bitches through auctions and sell their pups. The staff tells you everything and do not make any commission out of the deal. They are trained to help you out.
9. Pups are auctioned at Army Dog Centre for private buyers and one can also apply for permission to buy a pup at controlled rate at RV&F Directorate, GHQ Rawalpindi. Anyone can apply for it, the sad part of it is that the application always gets rejected. Mine got rejected several times.
10. I know people who have purchased retired Army Dog Centre brood bitches at their auction. Army Dog Centre auctions take place regularly, one has to keep track of it in order to take part in it. So that's a great idea if you want to get 100% pure West German GSD bloodline at an amazingly low price by winning at an auction. When your auctioned female dog is at her mating time, take her to Army Dog Centre and get her mated with the most beautiful of studs and get an amazingly pure litter.
11. I've mated my pure German Shepherd bitches with Army Dog Centre studs and got amazingly beautiful pups. The quality of Army Dog Centre bloodline is outstanding, mind you I'm talking about the 'bloodline' which is so pure and that is what matters in genetics.
12. Ab aik andar key baat bataon aap ko if you are interested as an army brat. Once three pups got stolen at the Army Dog Centre. Not only everyone in the unit got thrashed including innocent guys but all the pups were recovered including two dead ones. Saree unit ko maar maar k admooha kar diya tha MP waloon ny. Dead pups were also recovered which got stolen. You don't play with the army especially Pak Army.
Regards.
