My speed needle starts fluctuate during driving. Due to this, my car shifts up or down. Kindly suggest what to do? Toyota dealership has no meter. Corolla gli 1.6 model 13

Speed needle is fluctuating. Rpm needle is normal. And due to this, some time my car shifts up or down and steering becomes hardened. And some time speed needle shows zero while the actual speed is around 50kph and at that time, the steering feels lighter as if thinks the vehicle is idling and that time check engine led in ON which shows that speed sensor fault. Now I have changed my speedometer meter and speed sensor but the same problem exist. I have also tried the speed o meter of manual gli and it doesn't shows any speed fault or in other words, it's working normal.

Some time I felt it happens when the car travels 10 to 15 km or when the assembly temperature rises. It's just my thoughts

Could be due to faulty Transmission control module.

Please get your car scanned.

Any reliable person for scanning? What can cause the faulty transmission control? The car has just crossed the 31k kms. And I have done all maintenance on time and the only person who drives that vehicle

I have taken it to toyota southern motors Karachi. They told me the error code is p0500 which is related with speed sensor which I have already replaced. Shall I again do the same practice? Can I find brand new sensor in local market of Karachi cause prices of toyota is at least 200time higher than normal

Don't change the sensor again. First get it checked by an electrician using a voltmeter.

Yes. I have replaced it. Where in Karachi can I find such electrician who will check the sensor from volt meter?

The VSS (speed sensor) in your transmission is faulty... or either has lose wiring... You are experiencing change in steering sensitivity because the EPS take signals from VSS via the ECU to change the sensitivity... The faster you drive the harder the steering should become...

The fault is not with the meter of you car...

Thanks a lot for the support dear. I have decided to replace the speed sensor again. But the problem is that it's only available from toyota dealership which costed me last time around 35k. 2nd option is from shershah but I think it's not feasible to install a used product in a vehicle which only drove 32k km.

Dealerships are stupid... They charge stupid money for something that is supposed to be relatively cheap... IF, you can manage a trip to plaza, check with Japan Autos, The ships deal with genuine toyota spares and I personally have good experience with them...

I will also not suggest to try shershah for an electronic part
