I am planning to make a Go Kart from scratch using a 78cc Chinese engine I have lying around. So far I am trying to design the frame, suspension,steering and brake systems before starting the project and I will need help along the as I don't have much experience in the automotive field. Right now I need suggestions on what type of frame I should get fabricated and how much it will cost. The requirements of the frame are it will be balanced and strong enough to handle my weight. I'm 6'1 and 90kgs. I was thinking of making a ladder frame type chassis for the go kart because in my opinion it will be easy and more cost effective to fabricate as it's more simple to make and understand for our desi welders. The second reason is that since ladder frames are used in trucks it will be able to hold the weight better. For shocks I've decided to put the small motorcycle monoshocks available in ranchor line. For the brakes I've decided to put a disc brake from a motorcycle on the rear axle . The things that are perplexing are the steering system the rear axle and the front brakes. I don't think front brakes will be that necessary for this project but the steering system is a bit confusing. I know how I want the steering to be and how it should be designed but I don't know where I'll be able to get it. I have the same problem with the rear axle. I know that it should be mounted with bearings and will be driven by a sprocket but I don't know where I can get a axle manufactured according to my needs.. I've seen a couple of 3 wheeled 70cc (loaders) with a chain drive axle but I don't know where I can get one manufactured. Please advise me if you know where I can get these things manufactured at a lower cost as I'm a student. And please tell me the estimated cost for the project. JazakAllah
