I'm looking to upgrade audio system in my 9th gen civic (Rebirth). Currently it has OEM speakers and Honda Navigation (Tracking World 1st gen) - which is quite annoying to use. I don't want to spend too much money, just need a better head unit that's easy to operate, plus improve sound quality.
Head Unit: I checked out a chinese android unit at Laser Sound (since this seems to be mentioned a lot), it seemed quite nice and interface was smooth, even though it had 1gb of ram. The guy said if I don't need to run a lot of apps, then 1gb is enough. For 4K more, he said he has a 2gb version as well. He also wired the head unit up with Infinity 6.5" speakers (Rs 7K) and the sound was much better than the OEM system, much more clear although lacking in bass.
Also called EOW, the guy quoted 24K for a chinese android system but the specs were identical to what Laser Sound has, so wondering if there is a difference in quality?
I think the head unit at Laser Sound is good enough for my needs. What do you guys think?
Please advise on speakers for front and rear that will improve the sound quality with the android system. I like the idea of getting tweeters installed in the A-pillars for improved sound stage, can I run separate tweeters without amplifier?
