Google Maps crashes and Tracking world default app has limited maps

AoA, I recently got a BRV and by default Tracking world navigation system is installed. However, the system has limited maps and was not able to search even some restaurants which have been established two years back.

I have tried to utilize google maps but it crashes on starting the navigation. Maps are correctly displayed in the app and even search and directions work find but when you click "start driving" the app crashes. Are there any incompatibility issues between google maps and the navi unit or configuration issues?

Sir Jee. Forced to use smartphone now for nav but was just wondering how to best utilize the 80k nav system forced by Honda company on consumers.

I also bought BRV recently (2021) and have been using the Google Maps with the navigation system and it worked quite well for me so far. I have been to places like Ayubia, Khanspur, Swat/Kalam and it supported me without the issue of crashing. Although sometime its map display stops rendering properly but closing the Google Maps and starting again worked fine.

Great to hear it. Only thing I have done additional is updating the installed Maps application. Did you update your app? If this is an issue probably I need to do a factory reset etc

Update for others facing same issue. Problem was with updated Maps app. The app was reset to factory version and it started functioning.

When you update google maps app. Also You need to update google app (google search app) after that google map will not crash when you start navigation.

1. Update Google Maps.
2. Update Google Search App.

I was facing same issue and after searching solutions I found that there is google search app which is pre installed in system which is outdated. I updated via google play store after that Google Map start navigation without crash.

After update if you need to restart your system or sometime system hangs due to low memory and restart itself it will take almost 8 to 10 min something 15 min to properly boot. During that time do not panic and do not try to reset it via pinwhole near SD card slot otherwise your system will stuck on boot logo and then it will come alive either you reinstall its software via bootloader etc (you need to visit tracking world to do so) Or factory reset via recovery mode. (Very Tough).

When it restart next time it will take normal time only 1 min or so.

Please note do not uninstall google search app otherwise your system will stuck on boot logo when you restart or when it auto restart due to low memory issues and then you need to reinstall its software as well or factory reset via recovery mode.
