Google Play Store not working on WiFi

Well i faced this problem the culprit was the os i just flashed it and it worked perfectly and still is.

Sometimes the problem could be the OS because when i faced this problem the google play was workin perfectly on my cellular internet but not on wifi. I could be wrong in the diagnoses of other devices but in my case the OS was the culprit , specifically the google apps package!

I don't usually reply on discussion forms, but since I am also the victim of OP issue so thought I should share. I have been facing this issue (on and off) for over 3 months. Has any once notice "Sign in to WIFi" message on notification bar, it is also very common. Looks like PTCL blocks the plays store and other google services from time to time on android devices, its completely random and looks kind of automated. And this goes for most of the google services (someone mentioned Gmail app out of sync above). It is happening with my Huawei G700 right now on my PTCL. Next door someone has Wi-Tribe (open), when i connected that, I instantly received emails and an app stated to update as well. Only way around is VPN (there are many). But since we are the slaves of PTA, we have to deal with it... Ramazan Mubarak...

This issue appears quite randomly. It is working fine for now. Yeah, "Sign in to WiFi" message was appearing on the notification bar when play-store was not working. But now, it doesn't & all is back to normal.

Yes that's what I was saying. Its completely random so the best possible explanation, in my opinion, is that the PTCL censor or filter software blocks is automatically and then releases it. That's what I think.

whenever this happens, disconnect wi-fi from your device settings, shutdown & restart your device, at standby reconnect wifi, the problem is reported due to random IP change of PTCL which makes random ping of device stuck and play store seems 'dead'. It is very common since implementation of PTCL IP switching aka IP Load Sharing aka IP transition

It's a very well known bug in android phones.

Delete account from settings and Try to login your Gmail using YouTube application. It works for me.

Edit: The people may download applications from web browser (via wifi) by searching, (Application name) (apk). E.g. skype apk .

play store mostly works on mobile data.

I use VPN software to download and update apps from play store and it works perfectly which concludes that it's a PTCL problem

Any of the solutions presented above may work for you.

For me, changing the timezone of the phone to any other than Pakistan worked!!
