Got myself Mitsubishi Galant 2004 V6 2.5L (EA5A)

Starting this thread to document my journey with my Galant. I’ll try to post updates consistently and would love input from fellow PakWheelers, especially regarding maintenance and parts sourcing.

Picked the car up on 9th September in Lahore for 20,00,000. On the drive back to Islamabad, the original sunroof glass blew off (yep, not fun). Got it temporarily replaced the very next day with a 2005 Corolla sunroof glass which surprisingly fits well. Also had a ball joint pressed and got tints installed.

If anyone knows reliable sources for Galant body parts and spares in Pakistan, please share. In particular, I’m on the lookout for a

Beautiful timeless car, they truly don't make them like this anymore. As a Mark 2 owner for over 15 years I have the utmost respect for seeing these cars taken care of and enjoyed. Wishing you the best of luck and a fulfilling ownership with it!

Deff agreed on that, but they're absolute tanks mechanically.

Why didn't you replace balljoints? This is a high torque vehicle.

Sunroof was advertised some time back, don't recall where. But if its just the glass you need, get it made by order to fit

I will get the ball joints, chimtey (suspension arms) etc. at once and replace the next time it goes loose as recommended by the mechanic too. He said these have been pressed one too many times anyway.

For the sunroof, Bilal Gunj is quoting me 40k for the sunroof glass. Is that reasonable?

Its something noone wants. But it's also something that isn't available everywhere. So just a matter of sitting down to agree on a price. I would suggest to go to a known sunroof wala, and let him deal with it, he can get you a better deal

He changed his mind actually and says I'll have to buy the whole assembly for 60k and he won't sell the glass separately.

I have asked a friend to survey the market himself too and see if he can find a better deal.

I did, that's how I got the corolla one fitted on.

However, it is not watertight and gets a bit stuck closing on the way out.

I'll just get the assembly if I can't find the glass only.

Might come in handly later or can keep it up for sale just in case someone needs it.

Which sunroof wala did you go to? Did you not tell him that its leaking? Dobara nahi gayi?

The leak is just rubber failure, bigger issue is the thickness of the glass being different at the back.

It was one in sultan khu. I'll just go for a refund once I find a genuine replacement.

Thank you. I'll contact him tomorrow. I will try shortlisting sources in Sultan Khu Pindi, Bilal Gunj Lahore and then Peshawar and Karachi markets too, maybe Shershah.
