I lost my Nokia 5800 xPressMusic
Now I have purchased HTC Desire HD. I want to know if Garmin MobileXT is compatible with this phone, if yes then how can I install it?

Operating System: Android 2.2

Sorry for your loss brother.

Garmin is not offering any standalone application for Android.

But u can use Google Maps. These maps also provide you navigation with voice search and believe me you forget Garmin maps.

GARMIN is not compatible wth android
just go to MENU>LOCATION>THEN AGAIN PRESS MENU BUTTON>TAP ON PURCHASE MAPS(UPGRADE,DOWNLOAD WHATEVA)then there will be a list of maps for all countries download the one u want (making sure you are on wifi)downlod it and u are ready to rock u

@rizwan400: I tracked my lost cell phone, lets see how to get it back.
Google Maps is no doubt excellent, problem is that carrier charges are applied, and applied alot, even if I purchase unlimited GPRS package, though it is still limited and volume based. Once you use free navigation, you don't like to pay for that
I got one solution, navitel. Studying it. If anyone has used it, please share.

I also want a solution for maps for iphone.It requires internet .Can this is not happen that i can save a map or install some software for this?

Hello.

Don't buy anything from Android Market just search for the program on 4shared.com and put .apk at the end of the name , you will get free full apps. Works great.

to install those .apk's you need root your device first... or just search ( applanet ) its like marketplace without paying

I have google maps on my DHD. Works fine. Just need to fill up the cache once, using WiFi, for the area you want to cover so that you don't have to download map/terrain images from GPRS all the time. Later, you can navigate using GPS tracking in that area, with very less GPRS downloading.

I tried searching there, I was able to install Navitel on my DHD. I also downloaded maps of Pakistan compiled for Android from pkmaps. Unfortunately Navitel I got was in Arabic and I could not load the maps. So I removed it from phone. Anyone able to run pkmaps on Android please?

So, if I am browsing Google Maps, maps are being cached? I have to travel to Torkham on Monday, following you, I browse the map with directions from Islamabad to Torkham border. All the route is now in cache?

Yes man .But also zoom in the whole map and then it will work without wifi or gprs on phone.I also now do the same on my iphone and it works without wifi or gprs

iPhone is nothing in front of DHD anyways its ones own choice.
