Gran Turismo 5: PC Edition?
Austrian site derStandard spoke to Polyphony Digital boss Kazunori Yamauchi at a recent Salzburg press event:
derStandard: Is there a chance that Gran Turismo will be released on a different platform?
Kazunori Yamauchi: It is very unlikely that Gran Turismo will be released on any other console. But perhaps for the PC. Especially in the Chinese market so we could increase the growth of the brand.

Gran Turismo Racing to PC?
Game's head honcho wants to target Chinese market with PC.
[April 14, 2008 - Kazunori Yamauchi, Gran Turismo's project head, spoke to German publication derStandard (courtesy of MCV), where he alluded to a possible PC iteration of the popular racing franchise, "It is very very unlikely that GT will come out on another console. But perhaps it may come out on the PC." (Translation assisted by Freetranslations.com)
Yamauchi believes releasing Gran Turismo on the PC will help promote and distribute the game in the Chinese market, a market he seems eager to capture. This notion is interesting as the Chinese market is known for its rampant piracy.
Since releasing in 1997 The Gran Turismo series has featured hundreds of licensed cars and is currently undergoing its 5th iteration, set to release in 2009 on the PlayStation 3. Will the most popular racing simulator of all time head over to the PC? Time will tell.
