First of all people ask questions here for a suggestion and it is their own choice to consider these suggestions or not and I am not forcing him to spend money. and another thing for you, I disagree with your point of not warming up properly, it ruins the engine to start driving without letting it warm up when cold you can even search. And now to me, I said get the air filter replaced, which should be done regularly, and to check for leaks in the air pipes, that is free. And I suggested to get the fuel rail checked not replaced as there is a small "rubber type insulation" which can let excess fuel inside if wears out due to particles interning fuel tank. So all my points are "fact points" .️

You said get the rail and injectors cleaned, that causes more issues then resolves any, similarly, get it "tuned" throw money at the mechanic to open plugs which shouldn't be opened before 100k kms usage, open the throttlebody, which again is not supposed to be serviced unless car has a sticky idle....

Wrong! Mine's driven 200k kms. Engine is still at a 100% health. Never warmed it up. I just drive slowly till it achieve optimum temperature.

LoL what are you talking about? Checking out my odo? I have only poured injector cleaner like 4 times and catcon cleaner in fuel like 6 times for the whole life of this car which is about to complete 10 years and above 200k kms now. It's been to almost every place of Pakistan and I can still take it right now to the farthest place.

It's a Toyota not a German, deal it like a Toyota and you'll be happy.

Do NOT wait for the engine to warm up before driving. That causes even more wear it takes longer to warm up the car.

As long as you are using the right grade engine oil you don’t have to wait and keep idling, after some secs start driving gently and it’ll keep the engine protected / warmed up much quicker .

actually hi octane does make a difference if you use in 50/50 ratio, it improves engine performance ,reduces wear the engine gets quieter and even the heat emitted is less i personally noted all this after using shell vpower ..reason being the regular petrol is not up to the mark which may cause engine knocking increased friction/wear due to impurities in the fuel so using hi octane is ideal in a mixed ratio for peak performance. put 2 or 3k worth hi and rest normal.

if its the first start in the morning it is advisable to wait for a minute or so after start up and then drive off with light foot which is the best scenario but considering the fact that these Toyota, Honda engineers have the term ' over engineered' their engines whether you drive it without warm up or after warming it up ,it wont give issues at least for the 1st 150k kms just like the user before mentioned he drove his Grande 200k kms without any issue and he didn't warm the engine before driving reason being these engines are reliable .. in my Grande i wait for the temp gauge to reach the quarter mark in the mornings then afterwards i drive it without warming even if it again reaches the cold mark ..there is considerable difference when the car is cold it drives heavy afterwards the oil heats up and then it gets lighter so a little wait after starting will do more benefit then harm especially in winters.

Brother it is clearly evident that your so called "car knowledge" doesn't even exist. Spark plugs should be checked and replaced every 40000-50000km.Opening the throttle body should be done every 25k km. And if you don't know about tuning as car maintenance, they all improve average and increase engine life so please don't spread wrong information.🥱

The considerable difference is due to transmission.
When transmission is cold it will increase rpms and you will feel that it's not smoother. After driving a km or so it gets warmed up enough to run at optimal.

As far warming up is concerned if I had a carburator engine then I would have done that. There is nothing like warming up and waiting for any reason at all. In fact majority of wear out happens on idling at cold.

Childish arguments yet again. You don't need throttle cleaning unless you have a sticky throttle, fuel average remains the same even after 80k kms, placebo effect might become a problem. Iridium spark plugs lasts 80-100k kms and you don't need to check them either, they're not copper base. What are you driving? A 1950s beetle or what! You know nothing about the car you own and mantainance schedules in the owner's manual.
I'll repeat your words now: Don't spread wrong information if you don't know the crap you own.

Because instead of being a keyboard jockey I have performed engine compression test recently which is in good healthy limits!

A minute is generally fine (approx 20 secs is what I do) — as long as you don’t wait for the needle to reach/cross “C” when idling I guess it won’t cause too much wear.

Start driving gently and it’ll reach/cross C much faster .

most engine wear occurs at cold startup which is inevitable some pour low viscosity engine oils but thing is that at cold start most of the oil is in the pan and very less between the rockers and arms etc so wear will occur ..engines are engineered such that this wear still doesnt do anything for 200k or plus km if you talk about toyotas or hondas.. idling at cold start means your engine rpm is at 1k then come down to 900 or 950k rpm normally while if you drive off instantly your rpm is going to be 1k or more so i guess more wear will occur in this case .. however i do agree that driving off may warm the engine faster rather then idling but the thing remains that at idle the rpm is at the lowest so it may put less stress on the internals of the engine thereby reducing wear and also allowing for the oil to circulate and warm up.
