I recently bought corolla gli manual 2012 and it was making loud growling noise while driving. The sound is ONLY related to the speed of car. It does not depend on whether i am in gear or in neutral.
Following is the LONG list of solutions i tried:
I replaced all 4 wheel bearings with new japanese ones.
Result: 90% of the noise is gone but i can still clearly hear it around 45-65km/h
Then someone told me to remove wheel cups from the steel rims and try again, but no difference in sound.
Then i thought it might be those chinese tyres making the noise. So i changed all tyres with japanese ones and also changed the rims with alloys (I already had plan to do that). But the sound frequency and/or intensity has not changed even a bit.
Then i got all the 4 excels inspected and re-greased them but nothing has changed.
I even replaced the clutch throw out bearing (Suggested by someone) but the problem remains.
Please help.....what to do next?
