Day 05 (September 29, 2017)
Mastuj is a small town and also gateway for Broghal valley and much more. A private bus (NATCO) service is available from Gilgit to Mastuj via Shandur on daily basis. We checked in Hot Spring Guest house Mastuj. Mr. Ejaz is owner of this guest house. This is very nice, safe and clean place to stay with family very cooperative persons. I first of all changed bike’s engine oil with the help of Honda shop person then refueled the petrol there. We left for coming destination after breakfast. Mastuj to Shandur road is all alone up to top and ahead. Sar Laspur is last small town on the way to Shandur and after that terrain is alone very hard. At last we reached at the Shandur Top and Security staff said welcome to us we spent some time there captured some snaps there. A very cold and dry air was blowing on the top because winter season was approaching there.
The Shandur Lake’s water was not clear and there were no greenery in the surroundings as available during June, July and August every year. The polo ground was also looking in yellowish shade. We stayed shortly there and continued traveling towards Phander. We were stopped at LANGER Police check post for some security checkup that area come in District Ghizer and from there we didn’t stop further on the way because evening was approaching weather was cloudy and cold. We wanted to reach Phander before sunset. On the way we didn’t stop at any place.
We and our riding machine were happy as we found metaled road near to Phander area, thanked to Almighty Allah we were looking back as we had traveled through very hard tracks covered all without facing any single discrepancy including any puncture of tyres at last reached Phander checked in “Sada Bahar Guest House & Restaurant. This is an average guest house. The weather was very cold there. I added Trout fish fried in our dinner menu. According to my opinion the district Ghizer is one of most beautiful district of Gilgit Baltistan as full of natural beauty with some attractive landscapes in the surroundings. Next day after breakfast we captured some snaps of Phander area and left for next destination which was Gahkoch….
