Guangzhou Automobile completed the final testings of their Trump Che sedan. Trump Che will be released in November as the 16th Asian Games special reception models. In September 2010 will kick off the assembly line, 500 units will be provided to the Guangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee.
Trump Che is based on Alfa Romeo 166 platform, but the appearance and parameters has a larger difference. Dimensions are 4900x1820x1480mm although the platform is from Alfa Romeo, but the form does not inherit much. Its a blend of Italian and Japanese styling, somewhat similar to the design of eight generations of Accord.
The suspension system from the Alfa 166 platform will undoubtedly show the advantages. Shanghai Fiat Power-train Technologies R&D center is involved in the power-train research and development. In addition, a 1.8L engine and another 2.0L naturally aspirated engine is under development, which will fulfill the low-end models of Trump Che. The transmission also provides multiple options MT, AT and AMT, three parallel transmissions matched to different displacement engines. MT and AT transmission has been unveiled already.
Alfa Romeo 166's wheelbase is 2700mm, but Trump Che's wheelbase has been increased to 2800mm, more than that of Toyota Camry's 2775mm. Although Trump Che is a self made car, the Stile Bertone design company involved in design modeling, Comau Engineering companies in the engineering and development work, The Fiat Power-train Technologies (FPT) and Shanghai R&D center is involved in power system development.
Price is expected to start from 150,000rmb [18.7 lac PKR] however official pricing is yet to be announced.
