Guard Engine oil

Dear All,

I just want to ask how many out there are satisfied with Guard Engine oil which is easily available at Makro & Metro stores with oil change service available.

At first i was using the oil in my mehran, now i m using it in my santro also, with 5000 Km oil change interval but i change it at 4000 km & i personally found the oil quality & engine response satisfactory.

Even Daewoo Pakistan use same oil for thier busses as they are in contract with Guard.

Kindly reply your views.

About guard engine oil.....
Which base oil...?
SAE grade...?
API certified or not...?
Where is the blending unit.....?
However
Daewoo Pakistan are using ZIC 5000 POWER in their buses not Guard oil.

Not exactly remember the oil specification but the grade is 10W30.

GUARD engine Oil - damn not - not even for free, it is available along side highways since long.

a Yanmar diesel generator at a farm house shut down kaput only 17 hours of run after engine oil change ... it was Guard oil. to see what was actually poured into engine drain plug was removed came out was something messy greasy stinky mucus.

after flush & filter change Caltex oil was used and engine started with bit heavy sound but working perfect

One week back i poured Guard oil in my alto vxr 2002, bought 2 week ago. My car Engine is in pretty good shape. Last owner was using havoline in it. I dont know what put me to go for Guard oil, may be cuz its in MAKRO that slightly increases its worth(May be). after a oil change i have noticed big drop in my engine pick and wasnt running smooth at all, as it was before with 3k km driven oil. Also engine sounded heavier as well. just after 300 km running i replaced the oil by Zic Hiflo, since thn dramatic change in car performance i noticed. Also unknown noises are gone. the guard oil taken out was total black, very thick and seems like a melted grease. Guard Oil, at least in my experience, is not a good choice.
(and yes i flushed the engine before pouring Zic Hiflo)

I am Nadeem. I am using Guard Engine Oil, Guard Air Filters and Oil Filters since 2012. I found it very good in quality and milegae of my cars improved by using Guard SSS plus 5W30 fully synthetic Oil. Recommended milegae for this oil is 7,000 KM but I change it after every 5,000 KM.
