Aoa kindly help me main aik panga lene laga hoon basically mera ye dream hai ke mei apni gari khud paint kron paint bilkul ok hy pr dull hy kafi to mei bs fresh look dena chatha hoon market se 20k cost aa rahi hy lkn mere pass spray gun hy to ghr krna chatha hoon no matter what
1*) spray gun mei kitna paint aur kitna thinner mix krna hy? Ya total steps kiya hai?
2) sand paper konsa use kron etc kindly sare steps bta dei aur konsa paint use company etc

There are plenty of videos on the youtube about how to paint. But you should only opt to do it by yourself if you have experience in paint.

Because directly painting the car without prior experience may bring not only funny but lmao type results. The car may look like Mr. Beans car which was previously swallowed by some ailean

I will suggest first paint your home gate and couple of doors of your home and ask Buzurgs to comment on your paint job. If they say well done, then go ahead to paint some old windows, grills, window frames, etc. if you receive thumbs up type response, then you are good to go to paint your car.

Let me ask you simple question.

Bhai ne meri ziyada hi krdi 🤣 bhai dekhei mei itna bhi pagal nhi hoon mei kafi baar walls door etc to paint kr chuka hoon pr us mei to koe rocket science nhi i think lkn gari pehly baar krni hai. Ap aik baat btae mei ne suna hai ke agar hum Nippon 2k clear coat spray krty hei previous paint ke upper hi to wo high gloss or fresh paint ki look deta am i right? If yes to agar sirf wohi kr loon?

First check closely that base coat (the actual color of your car) is fine or it needs to be refresh too ?

Suppose if the base coat is fine then yes you can spray it with the clear coat.

Clear coat or lacquer has property to diffuse with its own layers. So technically you don’t need to be super careful while painting the clear coat.

If I have to refresh the clear coat of my vehicle, I will do following steps.

First wash the vehicle with car shampoo.

Then clay bar.

Then wash again.

Then dry

Then prepare for the clear coat (use newspapers, plastic bags, etc. to cover glass windows, wheels, etc.)

Then wipe it clean with Isopropyl alcohol.

Then spray the clear coat on it.

If you are doing with compressor machine, then technically it needs 12-24 hours to fully dry before 2nd coat.

If you are doing with spray cans, then it needs only 15-20 minutes to dry the top surface before 2nd coat.

Precausions: Paint job is not recommended to do in open atmosphere in countries like PK since we have huge amount of dust in air. But proper ventilation is must.

After coat is dry, grab your bare hand on it and feel the tiny/micro pumps on it. If you feel them, then grab 5000 grit sand paper and slightly rub it with water on the surface. Don’t rub it dry. Once done, project is complete. Go to Bundu Khan, buy 2 Kg Special Barfi and send me by post or bykiya

Ok i will do 2k clear coat or results dekhon lkn apki post se andaza laga hai ke direct hi apply krna hai clear coat is it right? Mujhe kuch log keh rahy that ke wash krny ke bad 600 ya 800 grit se sand krna hai aur uske bad clear coat is it right? Ya direct apply krdoon?.

Or kindly aik baat aur bta dei mei ne gari ko compound krna hy buff machine mere pass hy shop wala ketha hai pehly 2500-3000 walay grit se wet sanding krein phir apply krein is it right?

Whatever you do, make sure to have proper protection. Wear proper PPE and mask (gas mask with proper filter)

See, there are many different techniques for the paint jobs. And this is also true that same techniques doesn’t apply on all the projects. So I will suggest you pick up one method and just follow it in your own way since DIYs are always full of learning, good, bad and funny experiences

It would be best if you can find an old bumper or door or any other panel whose paint is still intact. You can do the experiment and see the results.

Remember as a rule of thumb

Good Preparation is the Key for all types of paint jobs

Better you prepare the surface, better you will receive the results. The shopkeeper’s advise seems practical. Because wet sanding with 3000K will rub the upper surface of clear coat and will make it smooth but do it with very light hand pressure. Later on using car polish on it will make it shine. Which means the preparation will be technically good.

If you have an air compressor spray paint machine, then why don’t you use Lacquer + Hardner together instead of using Nippon 2K clearcoat ? Because aircompressor spray paint machine results are far more better & long lasting.

Yes brother i have air compressor spray paint machine with spray gun . Mei waisey nippon 2k clear coat spray krny laga tha us mei lacquer+ hardner mix kr ke is it good? Ya phir seperate separate kr ke?
