Guide me about opening of Dhaba/Restaurant in Kashmir, or Abbotabad

AslamuAliekum Friends, I am new comer here. I want your guidance because you travel in northern areas. I am not a rich man and I have small money for doing business. hence, I want to open a small Dhaba type restaurant and one small hair saloon in any nice location in Northern Areas like Abbotabad, Kashmir etc but I have zero knowledge about these areas. As, you have experience of visiting these areas so can you suggest me that in which public areas/locations, i can open small business.
I would like to run a business in that location which remain open whole year and tourist come in season and local people keep on coming in off season for example Muzzafarad, Kashmir etc.
Based on your experience, can you suggest the locations so that I may go there to explore the area.
Your kind suggestions can save my time and small investment. Thank you.

Well you need to focus on popular places where there are people (visitors) for the whole year and not just in a particular season. Since Murree already has lots and lots of shops I won't recommend it. Kashmir is vast and has proper cities like Mirpur, Kotli, Muzaffarabad etc but I think you want to open shop in holiday destinations which are frequented by travelers. Abbotabad is also a proper city where there is local population and less visitors.

I think after Murree, the place where most people visit for vacationing is Nathiagali - where I didn't find many shops comparatively even though there are quite a few good hotels there. So do check it out for a business opportunity there.

Thank you so much for your suggestions. I am not just looking for a place to run a business only for season. In fact, I am looking for that place where tourist and local both comes. Tourist comes in season only but local comes in off season too.
Murree, Naran, Kaghan are very expensive. Just for one summer season of 4/5 months, 5 lakhs to 10 Lakhs rent are demanded for small shop. Last year, I had a loss in Kaghan as rent was too high & there was not local customers.
Someone told me about Abottabad and Kashmir because of low rents but having good weather and have visitors too but I thought to ask from tourists who usually go there because they can give me best suggestion. As, this a famous web site hence, I came here.

I am tired of living in busy cities like Lahore and Rawalpindi and I want to spend few years in peaceful, green and mountarian area full of natural beauty.
I was told that Abbotabad has gas also and place is peaceful too. Kashmir is also beautiful with peace loving Kashmiris. That's why, I prefer these two Areas.
Swat is also a beautiful valley but still not safe. Gilgit is too far. Chitral valley is not accessable during winter & flood comes there too.
So, I am looking to take a new start in Kashmir or Abbotabad.

as far as the Abbotabad is concern it is just stop off for the visitors...people coming from murree have no interest there except Thandiani which can be visited without staying there..the most famous CHASHMA of ilyasi masjid has dried up...shimla and surban hills and lady park aren't too attractive.....people prefer to go to kaghan Naran and beyond..

Ok in that case Abbotabad, Muzaffarabad and Mirpur are nice places to live as these are cities with basic amenities available also. There is plenty of local population there however the tourists do not come there but I guess since your objective is to live peacefully while having a running business all year around that should not matter.
