Gumball 3000 In Pak

Dear Pak Wheelers,

I am having a wild idea about introducing Gumball 3000 like rally in Pakistan. May be Islmabad to Karachi or Karachi to Pkaistan, just same as the Gumball 3000 takes place every year from London to Newyork.

The Gumball 3000 is an annual 3,000 mile international road rally which takes place on public roads, with a different 3,000 mile route around the world each year. Founded in 1999 by Maximillion Cooper, it sees an annual entry of 120 cars, which are mostly exotic and powerful sports cars. However, more unusual entries, such as police cars and camper-vans, have been seen. The Rally is not a serious race in the traditional sense of Rally races - there are no prizes for being fastest or official timekeeping of any sort. Organizers emphasize that it is a road trip adventure and not a race.

Guys what do you think if we introduce this kind of event every year. Senior members can suggest well. Critics may not bother to comment and it will be appreciated.

I like the idea though, but what do you have in mind regarding the safety of the participants in regards to both thieves and in God-forbid the case of an accident?

Well, the senior members and gurus in pakwheels and also the members connected with the other car shows or get together events must step forward to launch this kind of annual event. If motor shows and events take place in Isb, lahore or karachi than it is quite possible to organize a gumball like format. The only difference is that gumbal is intercontinental unlike this event.
Safety concerns are really there to hold everybody back but not impossible. Proper sponsorships and safety measures to be taken in for it to make it success. routes can be made with night stops on convenient locations which will be the jurisdiction of management.

nice idea....3 months back a member @abirgti started a new trend with in our group ..to do cruse in city..which we did few times

and then we planned a cruse in which 8 or 9 cars participated inside islamabad/rawalpindi
including evo and rx8 and few other cars

Now we talk about moving from city to city .....then it involves alot of things

1... Road condition...

under such events speed limit r mentioned and asked members to follow it....but yet they do speed up .......for that i see only Motorway.....the best road available

2....Driver Education

dribing at high speed on high may sound less risking going in straight but it just takes 1 mistake for a huge accident

3....Car check up

You have to make sure all those cars running can last so long or not

4.........Security

biggest issue now a days...is.security....from islamabad to karachi....can be risky..for those who r going first time or dont know ppl around there

So we can start this on small scale ...and then advance for the long trip

Actually what u saw 2 Car show 1 in islamabad and second the mega 1 in lahore is just what we have started

and this cruse concept is 1 next thing...which is very good

This is a great idea. I really think its possible, especially if there is a big number of cars participating. The rally should be friendly in nature though, with all cars stopping at designated check points along the road and travelling in a group as much as possible should avoid any unforeseen security issues. Also, like it was earlier said. If it's kept to the big cities and the highways between them, security threats can be avoided. by maximizing travel in day light in Sindh - highways in Punjab are safer I reckon.

Also, there are a lot of politically influential people who love driving and rallying, they can be called upon to participate and endorse this, that hopefully will help with security on the way too.

Not to mention, Baba-e-Pakwheels, Hanif Bhai has JUST come back from a similar road trip. He traveled alone without any security issues. We hope he can contribute here also.

I would definitely participate if something of this sort materializes.

Very brilliant ideas, i like what u suggested that starting from isb to lhr to start with. Babe Pakwheels can contribute to make this idea a reality. I am willing to participate and step forward for it. Sponsorships and permissions can be taken from influential politicians, i mean there are variety of things which we can put to work and guys may have alot more brilliant ideas.

The only concern is HOW can we start and WHERE to start because some one has to step forward.
I think plenty of members and car enthusiasts can and will join in this road trip event.

brothers make it from peshawar to lahore on the motorway ..... perfectly safe (robbrs,thiefs wise) ... we start from peshawar, peshawari members arrange for food tea etc start the journey ... stop at mardan have kabab and payray (both are mardan specialty) at my place.... then stop at islamabad and so on the whole trip wont take more than one day including all the stops

not to sound like a troll but realistically speaking the roads here don't permit a rally of such proportions. Traffic would be cluttered and some really undisciplined people make way into these rallies. I suggest limiting the number of candidates and then taking a small social behavior/aptitude test for qualification otherwise this rally would merely cause inconvenience to other motorists and ethical pakwheelers.

man i had this idea for a long time but i guess its not possible rite now but nor is it impossible n to hav fun u hav 2take risks only concern wil be road safety.
hmmm rozzzz plan a cruise 2lahore n learn from it n then plan a big cruize!
