H22A and CNG

Hi guys I am planning to change my wornout engine in a honda vti 2k.
Can you suggest if H22A parts are available in market. Plus will it run ok on CNG as well, since petrol prices are unpredictable.! Will the engine last if picked from peshawar (shoba) or rawalpindi (mithu ahaata)

better go for a d15b vtec engine... its 1500cc but gives 130hp... enough to propel ur civic nicely.its also compatible with cng and parts are also available.swap wud cost u around 60k rs.

H22a on CNG?? Why did you specifically choose H22 for this purpose? Go for a D15B. Ideal for your kind of setup. As for H22 not being a daily runner thats wrong. Im using my h22 civic as my daily runner with nooooooooo problems at all.

MAN only in Pakistan ...i never taught that i woould that h22 with a cng its better to sell ur civic and get a cultus or other cng can coz bro civic aint made for cng any civic ..

IMHO: Plzz save that H22A for some other potential owner. I have lot of respect in my books for an H22A.

yyes get d15 vtec or change ur ride .. or if u can afford then get some small car and in ur civic swap wid H22 and drive it like twice or thrice a week rather then puttin it on CNG.. itsa heavy engine wid many horses .. CNG wont be good for this ..

Should it be done? Depends totally on the owner and his relationship with his wallet

And D15B isnt a bad option either...comparing both, you get lots more torque with H22A.

So, H22A on CNG would approx equal a D15B on petrol....APPROXIMATELY, if cng tuned right....

Yes you can CNG a H22.
H22 is just like any other internal combustion engine...no issue what so ever. And I think H22 has high compression ratio so it will work quite nicely with CNG.

Cannot help you regarding parts etc. Don't know the market's scenario now a days.

It will cost alot itself.

The swap labour will cost alot because its not a bolt on.

Its a big engine, a DOHC ... its CNG average wont be good

actually d16y8s are better than d15b, i wanted to replace the assembly, but was thinking why not upgrade the engine as h22s are available in the market.

b series is an option but not available in the market.

We don't have D16Y8's in Pakistan. The D16Y8 was only for the American Civic EX variant.

As far as being better is concerned, the most aggressive cam on any D series engine is on the D15B SOHC VTEC. Read the cam profiles on both and you will have a better picture.

a friend has been running his 97 civic(H22A) on CNG for about 6 months now and there has been no extraordinary maintenance costs or problems

Yes. The D16Y6 we get has a VTEC-E head.

Whats the difference between D15B and D15Z7 (3 stage vtec). Is D15B better of D15Z7 A friend of mine has swapped in his 99 VTI with the same PK6V engines ECU and I was like why didnt u go for D16.
