H4 Halogen Bulbs

Aoa. Please guide me about Headlight halogen bulbs for my Honda City 18. The light is very weak and I want to install bulbs of more brightness.

1. Which halogen bulbs are best in 100/90w?
2. How is the light and brightness of white halogen bulbs?
3. Do newer halogen bulbs of more wattage (100/90w) need relays? Or it won't be needed in Honda City 2018?
4. Do these Osram or Koito bulbs are reliable?

City comes stock as 55/60 Watts bulb. If you fit in 90/100 Watts bulb, you will need a relay as well. If you are ok with unnecessary cuts and all in your car wirings, honestly any 90/100 W bulb would do. If you want to stick with stock wattage, go for a good brand of H4s. I have tried Osram, Phillips, AAA.... They all are very good but yes their life is generally shorter than stock bulbs. If you can afford, go for retro bixenon projectors. They have the best output with laser sharp cut off

I have tested Koito 100/90w H4 bulb. It's light output is better than stock. The mechanic said relays are needed in small hatchback cars etc. It isn't needed in Honda City. I'm confused do I need to install relays and fuse as a must?

Size of the car has nothing to do with the wiring and electricals. I had to install Relay even in my Vigo when I was upgrading to 90/100. Must go for it

These are projection LED Bulbs. I ordered the same from AliExpress for my honda city and trust me you wont be disappointed
Just check from the if these have RHD cutoff or LHD Cutoff

Never install 90/100 watt bulbs. They will make ur headlight yellow and will ruin their look. Will destroy ur wiring as it is almost of double wattage than 55/60 watt. I recently removed 90/100 watt bulbs from my prado and installed 55/60 watt bulbs. If u want increase in light and money is no problem than install philips or some good brand fanless LED bulbs.

How is the light of white halogen bulbs? Is that pure white or bluish tinge? How bright that is compared to yellow one?

Depends which K value your white bulb throws. Higher the Kelvin value, bluish it is. As a thumb rule, near visibility is generally better in white bulbs but far visibility, yellow is much better

I checked BiLEDs. Those are expensive. Rs. 13.5k for a pair.

Salam Brother. The best bulbs in halogen category are Koito 90/100w bulbs but being a higher power rated bulb, it comes with its own drawbacks. You will need extra relay harness for the bulbs to work properly and safely. Secondly, in sometime the chrome coating of the reflectors will start to burn which is an irreversible damage. As per my detailed research/experiment on city headlight reflector, their is a small flaw in the design of the upper half of the reflector which makes the low beam and useable light hotspot. The flaw makes the light disperse slightly and makes the hotspot quite dim. I confirmed low visibility issues with a lot of city owners also.
As per my experience, I will recommend you Philips Ultinon Essential Gen 2 H4 LED Headlight Bulbs. They seem to work really well in city headlight with proven test bench results. I tested various bulbs with proper test settings and Philips LED bulb came out the best with super bright light and yet maintaining a proper cutoff and beam pattern. If I go for Philips extreme vision 55/60w halogen bulb H4.. Which color is better regarding road visibility.. White or Yellow?

Philips Xtremevision is a pretty good bulb but has quite less lifespan. The bulbs will die soon.

I have osram night breaker unlimited new for sale. These are 55/60 W bulbs so no issue of heating but with 110% more light output. Let me know if interested.

you can also opt for osram night breaker laser h4 bulbs 150%. very nice bulbs and much better visibility
