Haier Inverter is making beeping sounds in sequence - won't turn on

My 2.5 year old 1.5ton Haier Inverter was working fine last summer. When I powered up the adapter after a few months break between winter and today - it started beeping in a sequence:

First one beep, then twice, then thrice. After that the readout displayed a "F" and "35". After that it would just keep repeating the startup sequence where the louvers open and close.

I can't turn it on. What seems to be the issue? Card gone bad?

Check owner's manual for the type of error. If you don't have it, search online

I can't find anything online. Owner's manual is nowhere to be found either!

Can you tell me something? Is it a bad idea to wash the condenser unit with a "balti and mug" after it's been off for months?

Yea it is fine to do that, did you disconnect the main plug when doing so?

It is better to have a AC technician do that for you since you may make mistakes. Unless you are certain about what you are doing.

Yes, power is always off from the main plug. Did not disconnect it, but power was completely off - e.g. from the circuit breaker and main wall outlet.

I've been doing it for years with no issues. I only splash a little water on the condenser and nothing else to get the dirt and dust out after ACs have been off for months right before summer hits.

Thats a good way to maintain your ac. Seems like your problem lies elsewhere

Well, it started up today after the beeping sequence - condenser started 2-3 mins later.

Guess what? No cold air. Looks like all the gas got out.

It's hardly 2.5 years old and I've taken really good care of it.

Just... great.

I will be honest with you I haven't had a good experience with Haier. The compressor is weak and once it goes out regardless of it being in warranty the company will just scam you. Get the ac checked and change to Gree or Kenwood in the future

No way I can buy a new AC at this point.

I even exhanged my 1 year old Haier ac with a Kenwood Flora series which is pretty old. But atleast it still runs good!

Ironically, have't had a good experience with Kenwood. I had installed that one first and it did not cool the room at all even after 45 minutes of running. Returned it and got the Haier instead from a different place.

At this point, I'm really not concerned with brands, but keen on getting this thing fixed as it's not that old and I intend to keep using it for at least a few more year.s

Haier guys will scam you bro. They visited my place multiple times while the ac was in warranty and did not fix my problem. Eventually they said pay us 5k for gas charges after warranty had expired!

Hopefully, yes, And I'm hoping not a very major one. Because one leak is all it takes - then these units keep leaking because technicians do not do a thorough job.

Now the problem is to find a trained and trustworthy technician, LOL! I wonder if they're open owing to the lockdown and all.

Oh well, at least issue has been traced.

Maybe the unit wasn't turning on properly - with the beeps and all - to indicate that there's no gas. Nice mechanism for preventing any undue damage.

You can try searching for AC technicians online sometimes you can find good technicians who may charge more but also do a good job.

Oho, ho! Those are the worst. Fell for that trap once, never doing it again.

They are underqualified and irresponsible. They lie through their teeth and never take responsibility for their muck ups.

Oh that bad? I once found a really good mechanic once like this. I think it was Mechanic Ustaad.
