That stats are global, not China specific.
I foresee this based on the upcoming EV tech and the global markets/news I have been following. Currently EV tech is expensive, hence the subsidies are present in some regions. It's a matter of few years time when the market will sustain without subsidies. Every year the battery cost is going down rapidly. Check the yearly graph. Then comes the new battery technologies which will reduce cost, improve range, and charging time. Currently LFP (Lithuim Iron Phosphate) is replacing NMC. It's cheaper, safer, has long life. Another battery tech that will reduce the cost further in budget cars is Sodium ion. Finally solid state batteries for mid to high end vehicles with super high energy density will massively increase the range, reduce weight, and lower charging time. By the year 2030, things will massively change. Just wait and watch.
Now comes the Toyota part. If they are so equipped, then why they are funding politicians and journalists to spread false news to slow down EV adoption? They don't even have decent PHEV tech. Its future PHEV models will use BYD's DM-i tech.

In Australia, they bribed some journalist to target defame EVs and China on his show. Not only that, he targeted Australian YouTuber who provide global EV news.
Toyota has become a company which needs to go away. The sooner it goes, the better it's for the green energy and EVs.
