So a little update. I fixed the ventilation fan issue myself (
).
I could not buy the CAN signalling thing since, if the voltage was that high it should've caused some damage which it did not.
I am no engineer, but am a ardent hobbyist; i got out my multi-meter and went about checking continuity and comparing between the driver and passenger side wiring to the vent fans
Lo and behold!, the PWM signalling wire from the driver side fan was wired to the wrong slot in the connector eventually going to the vent control unit (red circle made by geotherm).
The red arrow points to where the wire was crimped from the factory. It lead to no where on the connector, there is no pin on the other side!. I took a small wire (16 AWG), the ones commonly used in computer PSUs and made a "jugaar" to the correct slot (green arrow). The red circle points to the vent control unit.
Since i have no way to remove the pin from the connector (i watched some YT videos; the tabs on the connector are tiny and i am sure i'll break them), hence the jugaar
If anyone else faces this issue (which i doubt; since i am sure some sleepy head chinese working OT just slid it in the wrong slot!), do check your wiring.
"
PS: these are located below the passenger seat NOT the driver seat. The wiring had to be traced from the driver to the passenger side with the meter in continuity mode (Cheers to Northridge Fix)
And before everyone bashes Chinese cars, I had issues worse than these in PKDM Honda's and Toyota's. For BRV, the reverse camera just fails at times and requires re-engaging. No amount of updates, HU changes fixes this. For BRV and prior gen city the ignition would sometime not work. Cranking did nothing, cleaning the key did nothing and Honda in Islamabad could not figure out why this was happening.
Shit happens, one needs to deal with it
