Headlight lost its reflectivity?

So I spent about 11k getting some standard, OEM spec Philips bulbs. The high beam is decent, but I can barely tell if a low beam is even on. It's even dimmer than those no-name japanese bulbs I was using.

I don't know what to do anymore. If the only option is to get new headlight assembly altogether, it's an uncharted territory. I don't know which brands are available in the market, and which meet OEM specs closely.

Meanwhile, every auto electrician keeps trying to sell me dangerously high wattage bulbs/LED wala chooran

Buy a set of brand new headlights, buy original part and not aftermarket trash.

The light output of original is the best.

Are brand new parts still sold for an old model? And is there any way to identify if the part is original? Let me know if you have any leads for where I can find it too.

Call some dealerships and genuine parts sellers, you will find them.

OR

Get these projectors swapped out for something like a set of genuine honda cl7 projectors or nissan skyline etc along hid ballasts, ignitors and bulbs.

Some really good people offer such, that would get you the absolute best in light output and perfect light cut off.

Are brand new parts still sold for an old model?

Yes they are even available for models as old as 1996 but problem is custom duties and taxes are too much if you import from Japan.

I inquired from Honda dealership. They didn't have any confirmed data but just told me their best guess from memory a quoted a price of 75-80k for 1 headlight assembly. I don't think I'm going to spend that much..

I didn;t know about amayama. I guess I'll have to find out the part number to find an exact match. Any idea how I can find the part number for my headlight without taking it apart?

if you are not willing to spend the 70 to 80K on one lamp then forget checking amayama, the prices will be way more than that.

and for part number you will need to check the parts catalog, no number is printed on the lamp itself.

I wish you could just replace the projectors in the lamp assembly but I doubt they're designed to be removable or if there's anyone in the local market qualified to do that kind of job.

The projectors are removable if you remove the front lens and inner eustachian. Thats exactly what I meant when I posted to have them swapped out for HID retrofit projectors, it will give you the best driving experience too. Some folks advertised on this site a year or to ago and showcased their jobs too. You can try searching for that post/thread.

Do not try to have them chromed or anything like that, I dont think anyone is doing vapor chroming in Pk on retail level.

Are the HID projectors meant to be used with HID bulbs or can I use it with any type of bulb cuz I kind of prefer standard halogen bulbs. I'll see if I can find those guys who did the retrofitting job.

This is approximately the global price of these lamps, meaning in Pakistan you can just convert this to PKR and that would be what you approximately pay for a Honda genuine part at your local dealership.

I would say its more or less 250-275 a piece. - so just multiply this to the exchange rate.

with HID projectors, you will need HID lamps, ballasts and ignitors too. The factory bulbs are not white though, they emit a cream coloured light.
