Headlights HID vs LED

Recently I went to auto shop to get Hids fir my civic 2012, and he recommended that LEDs are the new thing now and they dont need blaster.

Anyone has any experience using LED bulbs in headlamps vs HIDs? Please share your feedback in terms of product life, quality, price etc

Never go for HID in halogen reflectors. The LED he's talking about are probably the cheap C6 ones, which are crap

Original LED installed by OEM are great, but watch out for 3rd party LED. They are crappy.

In addition to that, aftermarket LEDs don't adhere to bulb size and shape, so the light spread on the road will be completely messed up.

OEM LED headlights don't use bulbs, they use unremovable LED chips

Actually there are two types of OEM LED lights. Example one is Honda Civic (latest model) while example two is Sportage in which removable LEDs are installed in projector headlights. While lower variant has halogen bulbs installed in same projector headlight.

The difference between Civic and Sportage headlights is that Civic uses LED reflectors while Sportage uses LED projectors. Both headlights use unremovable LED chips. They can not be removed/installed or replaced.

Obviously LED bulbs are better than HID

Get from any reputable brand from AliExpress, local available one's are garbage
