Heater Control LED Conversion

Had spare time out of weekend and was thinking of doing something to my ride. It came to my notice that The Control for Blower Motor Direction was not working properly and Lights were dead too. So this was something to spend some time.

Opened the Interior, Removed the Control and was good to go. Now my 92 Accord Control has digital control which means that other than temperature settings all other were to be controlled by Servos........ This means Integrated Circuit is a must.

Tested the switches and changed the bad ones.

Replaced the Normal Bulbs with LED Strips and was good to go.

Following are picture of the DIY

NOTE: This may be not THE best solution, but for sure it worked for me atleast.

Total Cost:
LED Strip: 80
Switches: 20
Epoxy: 50

Time Consumed: 2-3 Hours

Isnt that a bit too bright? The original bulb and lens work perfect in my opinion. They only usually need a good cleaning.

Nice to see a Geniune DIY after a long time.........Most people are just spoiling this thread by posting pics of paid work they get done from workshop and third parties as DIYs.....

I think you just need to diffuse the light more, resistor can be used to adjust brightness

Last weekend I also cleaned my ac/heater panel as the lights were getting dim. But kept it genuine and now the panel is uniformly cool lit. I personally like cool lit controls as bright lights can get too bright for your eyes to see in the dark.
