Question: how to engage 4wd h4 and l4 in lj78/kz
I own for last one year, 1991 Prado lj78 now having 1kz engine and manual transmission.(so its not stock). It has manual hub locks. Problem is I find its button controlled 4wd sys bit unreliable. Initially it failed to engage. Fault was in that vacume producing solenoid. It was changed.
Now the situation is: L4 via gear lever doesn't work unless I first press H4 button.
Today I checked 4wd again when jeep was for service, and found that H4 button response is not always reproducible. Some time it made all 4 wheels spin and some times didn't.
Previously I had Pajero 1st gen. Its 4wd sys was pretty straight forward and mechanical.
