Help breaking in new Suzuki 150 GS SE - bought for touring

So I bought a new GS 150 SE in the end as the price was only a little more than a used one. 168k for 2019 model.

The showroom said ride the 1st 100km at 40-50km/hour, the 2nd 100km at 60/70, and the 3rd 100 at 80/90, which I followed riding from Lahore to Khanewal. A friend has told me that advice was wrong however and that I should only ride it 40km/hour for the 1st 1200km. Which advice is correct?
I bought this bike for some long touring trips with a friend next week - Multan to Karachi to Gwada to Quetta to Pindi, so it will be hard to ride it at such slow speeds.

40km/h is much lower, and 80/90 is higher. please try to maintain 60/70 for first 1000 KM with no high stress on engine. Let the engine run smoothly. for example, no high revs and no use of excessive power. Change the first 2 oils at 500 & 1200 KM and enjoy the ride. Regards

Read your user manual. It is provided for a reason.

Every vehicle has different scenario when it comes to break-in period. Don't look at Speedometer, rather the RPM Meter. Should be mentioned in the manual as well.

Ride in all gears but don't drag too much. Rev slowly but steadily depending on the road conditions such as traffic, speed breakers etc. Regarding the oil, it's more about personal preference I'd rather change first oil at 1000KM if mentioned in the manual. Stick to recommended oil until engine warranty don't go for other brands otherwise warranty will be void.

If roads where you live are congested a lot, once in a week take your bike to the highway but again steadily but slowly.
