Nothing on the hazara motorway. We usually stop at Naran and buy kabuli pulao and after crossing the bridge you will find river rafting . At that point there is a place to bring car down from the road and sit near the kunhar river and have lunch over there. you will enjoy this.
I had left lahore at 10 pm and reached gilgit at 11:30 pm but did not find any good places to eat as they were all closed. The next day we had breakfast at the hotel and after visiting NLI market (i won't suggest you to visit as there is nothing which cannot be found in Lahore) we went to Hunza and reached there in 2.5 hours. In between we stopped at a point where on our left side was a small mountain with carvings, (can't remember the name) and a little after that there was a very large waterfall on the right hand side and we stopped and had tea over there.
I stayed at Tiger Hils Hotel in Karimabad. Nice hotel with balcony's opening towards Rakaposhi mountain.
when going towards Baltit fort (a little before the Tiger Hill Hotel on the right hand side) after climbing about 20 % of total distance, you will find a very small hotel (chabra) where a woman by the name of Shehzadi serves chapshurro and other delicacy . you can even search her up by name in the internet. Eat whatever she is selling and you won't be disappointed. before her restaurant there is a pizza shop and the pizza is very nice too .
Visiting baltit fort isn't important as you can check this up in the internet as there is nothing much there to see. Its not like badshahi qila in Lahore. No comparison. Also last time they were charging 500 per person entry. So your choice.
On the motorway you can stop at bhera and buy burgers for your kids
