Help For Travellers of Gilgit Baltistan

After your detailed notes, i am assuming that if you want to keep your car's Engine relax (including clutch plates & rubbers etc..), then Kohistan is the best route.
And if you want to keep your car suspension & Tyres etc.. relax/well, then Naran - Babusar route is best for you.
(not considering the weather & greenery enjoyment effects).

Guys Can we travel up to Khunhjrab pass on company vehicle, basically the vehicle is in name of company. Company has given me a letter authorized to drive (but it says driving for official purpose, though in practical company has no objection in driving it for personal use) and copy of the registration card (original registration card is with company)

Will it be a problem driving like this. Are there any check posts on the way which check the vehicle documents and can raise objection on not having the vehicle in you own name or having a copy of registration card.

I know you can expect sport checking any time anywhere but are there any regular sports where the documents are checked regularly.

I am planning a trip from Karachi to Khunjrab pass. this will be my first trip on my own. before that I have been only to saiful Malook once but that was on a hired Hiace.

I have enough experience of driving on highways, Deserts and mountains aboard. but not in the mountains of Pakistan. How risky is it to drive in a 2018 Hinda city (only one car) with a family of 4.

While driving in mountains just be very xareful of people coming into ur lane on curves

Driving with a company owned vehicle will not create any problem. Documents of vehicle are not checked normally, especially if you are travelling with family.
Honda City with 4, can easily go to the top except a few scratches underneath at some places between Naran & babusar. Rest will be fine.

This is probabaly Astore-Deosai-Skardu road...
Someone was telling that there is a metal road from Skardu to Deosai.

Yes this is astore deosai road. Its not metalled. Wrong info provided to u. Its metalled till sadpara only

Apni life ko risk may daal kar & 40 lakh ki car ka "kabarra" nikalnay say behtar hai, just hired a 4x4 vehicle for this. It will not cost you much. I hired a Prado J70 back in 2016, for a round trip from Skardu to Sheosar Lake. it cost me around 10 k rupees. Now a days, it will be just a little more expensive.

Why not...Shangrilla, upper kachura lake, soq village, katpana desert, mantokha waterfall, khamash waterfall, sadpara lake, deosai, shigar valley, khaplu valley, kharmang, siachan...how many more do u like?

Chunda valley, basho valley, rondu, thally broq, masoor rock hussainabad...
Skardu is more beautiful than hunza but hunza has marketed itself very well and its easier to reach than skardu..my opinion

I am planning for trip to GB for about a week in Eid holidays (15-24 Jul). I will inshaAllah be using own car (honda civic x or Nissan AD). Main areas to be covered will be Gilgit, Hunza, Hoper, Hispar, Passu, Khunjerab.
The issue, I am afraid of, is the rainy season. But I only have this time window available. I can extend/ stay for 2-3 days more if road is closed due to rains.

Any suggestion on whether to go ahead with the trip?

GB doesn't get as much rainfall as the whole country. But landslides and floods are very common during this season. But this is the right rime to go to enjoy the max greenery and views...if one place is blocked u can go to another. Adding to this the GB govt is very active during the season to accomodate the visitora and make life easy for them. So any of such conditions are dealt very quickly

Now plz guide me about Nagar area. I have been to Hoper in 2004 using public transport. This time I want to show the area to family. Few questions for sake of guidance and planning.
1-Can a car easily go till Hoper and Hispar?
2-How much time it will take from Ganesh bridge to Hoper, and from Ganesh to Hispar?
3-Any suitable place at Hoper for family stay?
4-How much time it takes from KKH to Diran Guest House? Is it worth staying for a night or just a visit (including lunch) for 2 hours would be enough?
5-Any other location in this area, which can be reached on car?

Hoper is accesible in car. Hisper is a problem even on jeeps
Ganish to hoper will take 2 hrs
Hoper glacier view point has small hotels and camping place
From main KKH diran guest house would be max 10 KMs. Yes they have good rooms for stay. Just ahead of Diran guest house is Osho thang . You can check that too
