Planning a visit to Astore & Skardu with family from hyderabad.

Just curious if someone knows what would a prado type AC jeep cost me for drop off from Naran to Astore?

I've been to Astore before in 2015 and don't want to risk it with a driver/jeep from somewhere south like Balakot.

Many Tourists were stranded in Naran as per yesterday reports & footage.
No hotel rooms/no petrol, no accomodations.... So, be carefull and plan accordingly. Just get update before leaving your place.

Did call him but he said he cannot come or arrange for someone in the Naran.

I'm thinking about doing Fsd to Balakot and then take a jeep from there, any thoughts?

Drop off is going to be really expensive of Balakot to Astore, alternatively can also hire the jeep for few days and visit some Astore points like Rama with the driver from Balakot.

Why dont you hire a hiace till astore and then arrange a 4x4 from there?

We're only 5 adults 1 child - wouldn't hiace be a bit expensive?

I'm not a native and have no contacts in Faisalabad, I just feel more comfortable and confident in going to Astore with a jeep driver from Balakot.

Do you have any leads in Fsd for astore drop off?

PS any rough idea about cost?

You can hire an APV or a BRV from faisalabad till astore or till Naran/Balakot and then hire a 4x4 from there

I suggest you to go till Astore in the APV/BRV you hire from FSD. It will be less costly plus there is no issue of roads till astore for APV/BRV

friends are planning a trip for long time to hunza but as i read above road condition is not good we are going in a prius so i am worried it is gonna hit the ground in many places so please guide me what to do and where to go if hunza is not accessible in low ground clearance vehicle .

A lot of Prius users are travelling on this Naran-babusar-Hunza road on daily basis. There are 1 or 2 places between Lulusar Lake and Babusar on which your car will hit underneath, otherwise the route is fine for your car.
Thora bohut pathar to kisi na kisi place per lag he jaey ga, motorway nahi her jagah.
Even i couldn't save my Altis from hitting "pathars" at some places.

How is the road after rains from Balakot to Naran? Also, how bad will be the influx on 14 August weekend?

Just reached back Islamabad from Gilgit via Babusar, Naran.
It was the worst nightmare of life, traveling on Naran to Balakot.
1st of all there's landsliding on a number of places between Chilas and Jaglot. Roads are gone and long queues of traffic jam for hours.
But Babusar to Naran and Balakot was a nightmare. Vehicles were stuck bumper to bumper from Batakundi to Balakot. Totally stuck on both ends.
We crossed 50 kms in 14 hours. No food, no fuel, no hotel available. People spent night in vehicles and on road side. Families were in miserable condition.
Road is also bad at some places. But rush was horrible.
Same will happen on 14th August.
