I left from Lahore on the 13th of august 2021 around 9 pm and reached hunza at 8 pm on the 14th of august. About 23 hours driving. with around 1.5 hours stops total. The new hazara motorway bypassing abbotabad is actually a dream come true. otherwise you could get stuck there from 1 to 5 hours (actual experience).
on return back on the 8th of Muharram, from Hunza, we were told by the hotel owner to leave at 3 am in the morning, but at 3:30 am I came to know that babusar was blocked and people were also showing clips of the same.
Well we left at around 6 am . Went through gilgit , then from where there is route to babusar, starting, there is also another route through besham. the police man told me that babusar was blocked and so we had to go through this route.
Whole area nearly is devoid of vegetation. make sure that car is in top condition otherwise don't attempt this route. . We started at 12:40 pm from that point and reached lahore at 1 pm the next day. Total 31 hours of driving (again 1.5 hours stops) . After besham you just have to stay on the main road and it leads to thakot motorway.
First half hour or more driving on this motor way the speed limit is 60
the next half hour or more the speed limit is 80
and after that it is 120.
I really can't describe the dasu road. you have to experience it to believe it . your speed will be from 0 to 10 on this road. in case at some point you are able to speed up to 30 km then again a road will come up where your speed becomes minus zero (if that is possible).
before reaching Naran, from the Suki Kinari dam point, the road is broken up (actually broken up ) after the dam . And all your teeth fillings will come out.
A lot of fatigue on the route back to Lahore. But I am thankful that we reached safe and sound
Ate at Shahzadi's pavillon (it is on the track / road to baltit on the left side). But this time the Chapshurro was totally commercially made. She charged 350 for one Aloo ka paratha (this was not chapshurro. )
I would suggest people to definitely avoid her "hunza food pavillon" . The bowls of dowdo soup did not have much meat in it (very very small portions). All this is totally in contrast to what we were served by her in september 2019.
Now she has become totally commercial and has hired cooks (about 2 girls) and a boy as server and also opened up a big seating area right next to her pavillon.
Choose another shop on the way up to baltit fort also run by women. That chapshurro is good.
