I plan to visit Skardu in first week of July.. wud be my first visit. Do u recommend travelling thru astore deosai side as Skardu road is under construction??
Yes you can go through astore deosai. Skardu road construction work stops on Fridays you can travel on friday. However the road is not in a good shape

Can anyone please tell me the list of army mess or guest house in gilgit baltistan region like hunza,skardu to make them as base camp and then to travel to the tourist points nearby??
if you know an army/police officer or govt employees working for pwd/forest dept they may be able to help you out in booking a resthouse
You can get the list only from Army. Otherwise in Gilgit there are many mess in FCNA headquarters and surrounding area of Jutial. I am not aware of any mess in Hunza but in Skardu you may find many of them as army is in huge existence there

One tip for travelers of GB through Babusar.. Avoid travelling through babusar top at start of season when the top has opened recently as the freshly cleared road has a lot of bad patches and cars with low ground clearance suffer a lot of scratches from beneath.
