Help : Guidance for Platz Maintenance

hey guys. i m a poud owner of a 03 platz. the car is goin absolutely great. no problem whatsoever, either on petrol or on CNG. just need a lil guidance for the routine maintenance
1. i went to hyundai sawan motors to change the spark plugs, but they said that vitz / platz has some SPECIAL kind of spark plugs, and if not installed, the check engine lite turns on. as per MY understanding, the check engine lite is to do with emission control and some other technical problem if any. so, wat to do ? wat kind/brand of spark plugs to get for ma car, and from where?

1. ma engine on idle gives a clicking noise. i thought its cause of the tappits (or tabbeds...whatever the spelling). they guy there said that its of timing chain, as there is a timing chain in the vitz and platz instead of a timing belt. so please, guide me in this regard.

Dear waleed, I am also driving the Platz 02 and 04, its true they dont have timing belt, thay are on Timing Chain ,,,, Timing chain can produce clicking sound its usually cost Rs. 3500 to 4000/= in Khi Market. at the time of replacement ask your mechanic to check/adjust Teppits.

go to sadar for plugs. if u have owner manual there must be some codes given for plugs

Hello!
Well ....There is no such thing tat if u put some different plugs of different spec ..check engine light will get open....! it wont trigger CEL as there is nothing to CEL with plugs but engine starts to behave bad...!
B/w..Plugs Recommended for Platz from TOYOTA Motor Corp Japan are as follow...

Platz 1.0L(1SZ-FE Engine) uses Denso K16R-U

Platz 1.3L(2NZ-FE Engine) uses Denso K16R-U11

Platz 1.5L(1NZ-FE Engine) uses Denso K16R-U11

2.Yes ..Z-Gen engines uses timing chain instead of belt as it last longer than belt.......!!! but exp....! as per my Info..1.0L engine used in Platz/Vitz timing chain cost 7000/- Rs in market nowdays...! if its really timing chain..do replace it as soon as possible....!but make sure its timing chain...not anything else...!

Get Plug a/c to this this given name above..dont get beside it or your engine starts to behave bad....!

Well For That..You Need Good Sincere Mechanic Who Can really find it out..b/w...Z-Gen engines do need timing Chain changed after 100k+ kms....!
Get ur car checked with 2-3 good mechanics and if they say same...then find the best one and get it replace....!
Contact Spectra as he is member from ISB and he will surely guide you from where to get these Recommended Plugs

but ma car is harldy run for 25000 km. is it still possible that i need to change the timing chain? and sincere mechanic, well well well...now DATS hard to find nowadays

Well You Drive it 25000km yourself or you are mentioning whole milage....well these cars are used cars imported here and have around 50-80k km of mileage on meter....as these cars are so much mint that no one can say its 50-60 or 80k km used....well they rewind meters here...so do not go on mileage..
b/w...might be there is something else making sound but u have to check...well try checking yourself from which part sound is coming..either its from timing chain side or from somewhere else....!
i might help you if u are located in khi but you are not...so ask any PW's from ISB who might know about good sincere mechanic....!

thankx again. and yeah, the sound is coming from the timing chain side for sure. lets see. i wud take time out and take it to kkool's workshop. the guys there are gud.
