Help me installing Tachometer

Dear gurus,

I have purchased tachometer for my car and I need some guidelines for installing its wiring. Specifications are as:

1. Red & White Changeable (its light color)
2. Warning (don't know what is this, may be gear shift warning)
3. 270 degree sweep
4. Self calibration
5. dime (day & night)

The wiring diagram says that:

1. Red to ignition switch.
2. Black to ground.
3. Purple to light switch. (Dimmer)
4. Green to signal.

Can anyone please help me where to attach these tachometer cables with car wiring except ground wire and purpose of each wire. My car is in my signature.

Red wire will be connected to ignition switch, it will switch on meter when you turn on ignition.
Purple will connect to parking light wire, it will lit up meter when u turn lights on.
green wire is the signal wire, which will connect to negative end of ignition coil.

You could also wrap the green wire around the main current wire which goes from coil to distributor wrap it around it making coils like spring and just tape it

It has been done as afarooqi said. Its lights are dimmed when I turn on parking lights. I have heard that Altis meter also do the same.

^ Almost all the optitron meters show the same behavior when you switch on the headlamps.
In your case it can be because of extra load of parking lights on the battery.
BTW I,ve seen pictures of your tachometer.
It looks good.

Dear this is not due to extra load on battery. I have tested it with direct battery also. It is its feature because in day, you need more light to see the meter. When you turn on parking lights, it is dim because you need not much light from it in darkness.
