technically you can't say an amp having too much power (but you can say an amp having not enough power tho). actually, more power is almost always better.

an amp that can output 3000W of power doesn't mean that it always has to put out all its power. you can set its output to 100w if you like. so of course it can be use to power your 750w sub, as long as you set your power gain correctly. it's just like a really strong guy who can lift up 1000lbs of weight, it doesn't mean that whenever he pets a cat he'd crush and kill it.

i dont go with this theory.
as gain knob is just to set ur volts correctly and match it to the headunit pre volts . it is by no way a power adjusting knob. suppose there are two setups.

1) gains to the max on ur amp and from the headunit, volume 15.

2) gains to the minimum from the amp and headunit ,volume 30.

this by no means tells me tht on system 1) I am using full 4000watts and on system 2) i am using only 750watts.

now another thing....
the only way u could survive 4000rms with only 750rms is to keep the volume lower. u could blast the gains full or mimimum, the hu volume has to be kept low accordingly.

its not tht ur woofer will blast in a sec ..... NO! coils generate heat. this heat is determined in average. therefore u averagly could generate tht "danger" level heat in 4 mins or 1 hour it depends. but one thing i can tell u , 4000watts on 750watt woofer will generate heat very very quickly

i have alwaz been a fan of overpowering. it helps u give clean signals by keeping the "gain volts" down.
but 4000watts on 750watts woofer lol thts like an overkill specially for daily driver.
mayb burst spl would be good.but burst on 8000 mtx. LOL U MUST be kidding me

i have connected my amp on 0.5ohms
gain is the main thing to control all power

6000Wrms @ 4 ohms amp , can run 600wrms @ 4 ohms speaker ( how? lower the gain setting , or lower the HU volume ) both act same !!

why some subs are too expensive even they have similar rms rated ?? (bearing Power - issue )
1 : they use purest Copper coil ,
2: their ventilation designing are so extreme to over power them for a long time

bhai gain knob is NOT a power adjusting knob.
ok tell me one thing.

1) u set ur gain to full . and then see ur system will max out at volume 10-14

2) now set the gains to the minimum and now see ur system will max out at volume 35-40

now if ur theory was true, then system 1 should be louder because u have put ur gain to the max and the amp should be working @ 1500rms or even more. but the truth is u cannot even go beyond volume 10-14 and if u try to pull it to 35-40, ur woofer is going to blow due to clipping signals not because u have started to give it full 1500rms.
so then how come both the system sound the same? the only difference is in the volume. (one is maxing out at volume 14 and the other at 40)

this is because the gain is JUST a volt adjusting knob not power adjusting knob.

once ur system is being played to the max, it is going to give 4000rms to the woofer. regardless ur gain is to the lowest or highest point. the only difference will be the volume number on ur headunit.

notice how the "loud" mode on ur headunit makes ur system sound louder. but then u wont be able to crank up the volume as much as u can do it with "loud" mode off......
so this doesnt means with loud mode on ur amp is giving more watts.... these are all adjustments and so is the gain knob. ur amp is still going to give 4000wrms at its peak

the amp will give 10,000wrms once the system is being played at the max volume its capable off. taking the pervious example on top, i will set my gain accordingly so tht my system maxes out at volume 20-22.. somone else will set his gain lower because he likes to max out at volume 30-35.

haan but dada i wouldnt power a 750rms woofer with 4000rms amp. even with the gains low, at a certain headunit volume, the amp is going to max out giving 4000rms........ haan wo alag baat hai he sets the gains low and also plays the volume "50-60%" of its max volume capable according to the gains he have set. but then y would anyone buy mtx and 4000rms amp and play its to just 50-60% of its volume???
bett off get a 1000rms amp and play the mtx to its full 100% potential.

very true, its not advisable to power a 750rms sub with 4krms. but what i meant is that he can always power it with 750-1k rms of clean signal from this GTI amp rather than buying a 1000rms amp n making it work hard to produce its 1krms, n ofcourse that 1000rms wont be without a clipped signal

i would say , a person should have that amp which can over power them easily

like 1000wrms subs ~ 1500wrms amp
lets suppose he use 1000~1200Wrms , alteast amp is still safe
why ? "when you use anything @ full power , definitely it wont work easily

so amplifier should have relax ,i.e they shouldn`t by use to full

1000wrms sub , 1200Wrms from amp ( 1500Wrms rating ) in this order amplifier is having relax to work out full time
abb aisa bhi nahi 4000wrms , ur using 1000wrms to 1000Wrms sub

• other point , donot expect ur amp is delivering full power

if what you are saying is true, then i think he would be better off with having a pre that has a very low pre volt output. then he can increase the volume to a higher level.

use 4 Ohms on each Channel ,
so that bridging by amplifier can make 2 ohms load
at 1 ohms it gives 3000wrms
therefore 1500~1800wrms can be taken out if he use 4 ohms + 4 ohms subwoofer per channel

i am surprised , this amplifier is being compared with RF15K
