Help needed @Xulfiqar bhai. 2003 Honda Civic Auto tranny Problem

My 2003 Civic with D15b and auto transmission has developed a problem. I left my car with mechanic for suspension work, but i when i collected it afterwards, the transmission seemed to respond slow. It behaved normally on the way back except that the car revved a bit when switching from 2nd to 3rd gear. Yesterday, while going out, the car when switching from 2nd to 3rd, revved very high upto 4500 rpm but the gear did not change. The same continued for some time after which i came back. This morning, i took the car out. Switching was normal except for low revs when going from 2nd to 3rd. The problem again started when the car covered a good 15 kms. High revs and no gear changing. Dont know what the problem is.
Need you help desperately.

Did he change the gearbox oil during suspension work? Is your D light blinking when its not shifting to 3rd? Than I must say that your gearbox is gone. Time to change or overhaul it.

No gear oil change. I had it changed some three months back. No blinking of D.

Than it’s probably EOL=End of Life.

same issue happened to me last month with my 06 VTi Prosmatec. replaced complete gearbox because repairing cost was approx 15k and no guarantee of work.

the 2003 civic had the electronic gearbox, it learns the shift pressure as you drive; and a used gearbox will feel sloppy when the ECU has been reset of all shift adaptations.

Mechanic probably disconnected the battery.

Keep on driving it and see if it adapts. if it fails to adapt then you have to overhaul it - Honda make garbage automatic gearboxes - you wont be the first to experience this.

If its a hydraulic box (e.g. someone put an older civic box in it) - then you can adjust the pressure cable to firm up the shifts - the old honda hydraulic boxes take dexron III and have very firm shifts (they shift very hard/strong/bump) - if you fill such a gearbox with the new DW1 or Z1 oil it will feel like its slipping when catching a gear.

15K on gearbox overhaul is laughable, When I was in Pk, I sold an overhaul for this gearbox for abt 90K PKR, the repair included

rebuilt torque converter
new clutches
new seal kit (entirety)
valve body upgrade (for better shifts)
valve body modification to prevent the fill valve from sticking and burning the torque converter
oil
bearings (if required)

thats why our mechanics suggest replacement instead of overhaul.

thats hawaai fire. How can someone expect that a scrapped honda autobox will be equal to a new overhauled autobox?

It seems that your mechanic forgot to put lock on axel after which the gear oil has leaked from there, resulting in demaging the transmission. Get the axel lock checked asap. If it is there, then do what @Xulfiqar has advised.

due to above issue my car was parked for 3 days just in search of repairing it but in vain.

Thank u all for your valuable responses. I had it opened by an expert who said that it has got some weak clutches and a weak valve body. Anyhow clutches and valve body changed, service done, new oil and all that , and put back. I can now feel a little bit of jerk sometimes when gears change, not all the time. The expert says that it will go away after a day or two. Car is once again, back on the road.

weak valve body? - you mean dirty? The valvebodies (yes multiple) on a honda autobox are behind the bell casing, it is paramount to use a torque wrench to tighten them down properly, as you have literally zero chance to fix a misstep once the autobox is packed up.
