I yet have to apply for net-metering, that is a electric meter capable of measuring the current moving in reverse direction.
if you will carefully study the thread
https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/mechanical-electrical/276598-diy-solar-panel-installation-controller-selection-batteriesI have given the link to the application form in-order to apply for Smart Meters "Net-Metering"
http://www.nepra.org.pk/Legislation/Draft%20Net%20Metring%20Rules.pdf
Now the rules state that you have to install your system first then fill the application forms in-order to apply for net-metering and for that, you may have to deposit Rs.500 Non-refundable for application to get into processing phase
Reason behind this is that On-Gird systems matches the wave forms to that of your utility line and provides power to the output (One of the three phases from Wapda in your home utility line) and entire system is suppose to shutdown during power outrage so that you may not kill someone working on the utility lines. (These are rules). So once you install the on-grid system, fill the application forms then inspector comes and visits the site in-order to inspect if your system is secure and you have DC-breakers, surge arr-esters, AC-Breakers installed correctly and is your system safe from thunder lightening, either he is going to advice you to make few amendments or he will pass your site.
Under those circumstances, you be given a bill amount which you may have to deposit in-order your original meter to be replaced by net-meter.
Mine- On-grid inverter's have just arrived and have recently finished installing them so my next step would be applying for net-metering thats why i can exactly tell you the cost.
Soon, i am done, i will share the prices with you.
Remeber, their procedure says that first you need to complete the installation and only then you can apply for it. This is a good rule as that is the only way they can make sure that people are not making blunders which may end up killing someone.
