as per car manual .. (most manuals) it is recommended to change oil at 6 months or the mileage prescribed by type of oil .. can u quote authority of this 3m period ?.. this too when oil can is opened and put in car .. otherwise shelf life is normally 5 yrs

mileage for oils is different from 3k up to 10k for normally available oils in pakistan

I agree, shelf life of an oil is 5 years usually. While when in ENGINE than its 6 MONTHS or 5000kms depending in what oil is being used.

so why 3 months why not 15 days .. there is no written authority of 3 months just our local hearsay to change oil earlier than manual .. u change oil after 6 months thats what the book says and the honda motors and every other motor .. this 6 month period covers the dust and debri (though debri is a different word carrying different meaning) .. fuel quality has no impact on life of oil .. ur mention of local oil .. u mean local oil r not upto standards like shell pso ,,, then u r totally wrong ,, new civic and corolla is runing on those local oils .. check their manuals for change interval

I have to revive this topic. Anyone know where I can get these 0W20 brands in Lahore? Talking mainly about Liqui Moly or Aisin (or any other good brand).

Toyota Walton had 0W20 for 6000 (no thank you), and this guy with a Liqui Moly shop in Muslim Town didn't have it. Instead he had some brand called Meguin in 1L packs. Um, what am I supposed to do with those? Buy, like, 4? The Lube Shop in Faisal Town or somewhere has Amsoil, but claims that the LM stock will arrive by month's end. Filter House (Ferozepur and Walton) has none.

Buy liqui moly genuine oils from the liqui moly shop near safanwala chowk in lahore... You can easily find it by searching it on google maps.. They have all genuine liqui moly products and they are trustworthy people .. You can get 0w20 from there.

Aqua is JDM (japenese domestic model) recommendations are for japan , not pakistan.
One should do some research and use the grade best suited for the enviorment of pakistan keeping in view the fuel quality , filters quality , enviormental dust , temperatures etc etc.
