Dear Pakwheelers,
Few months back i got my hand on a toyota 4efte ( bone stock engine ) starlet that was prepared by my friend. for a few months it was running fine no boost lags no heat up etc. in the start of march the heat temperatures in karachi started to rise so as the temperatures of my engine , on normal driving conditions under 60km/hr the temprature at around 2:00pm is around 75 degrees and at nights it is around 65 degrees considering the fact that it has a direct fan and no thermostat valve. the number of things i've done to my car to control is:
1. Got the intercooler serviced.
2. got a bigger ( double nalli ) radiator with a high power fan.
3. got a cold air intake.
4. using a good engine oil ( liqui moly 20w50 )
After these steps the engine is still heating up abit. Few of my friends who are in motorsports field have advised me to do the following steps:
1. get a bigger tmic ( toyota 3sgte TMIC )
2. 3 inch front mount intercooler.
3. get the engine head checked.
Now my question is:
A. will a 3sgte TMIC would do the job to lower the compressed air temperatures and what about the fitments.
B. as far as i know, a FMIC would create a little bit o boost lag with a ct9 turbo but as far as cooling is concerned it would work pretty good. and what about the size of intercooler, ive be advised to used a 3inch intercooler.
Please advise me any more steps or preemptive measre by which i can control the temp of car. i'll be very thankfull guys
