Help with importing cell phone from USA

Im trying to get a used cell phone from USA. I spoke to DHL and they said that Pakistan does not allow used cell phones into Pakistan. Is that true?

Has anyone recently imported a phone through a shipping service into Pakistan? Were there any issues? What can I do to get it into Pakistan other than have someone bring in their luggage?

usps it to pakistan post, have had a used blackberry and a relatively new ipod nano shipped through them from the states. they wont open the package till you are there in person to collect them. Reliable and trust worthy service. took 15 days max for the package to arrive.

my experience is on video games and watch they said the same thing that they cant send pakistan due to some US laws but they havent told for pakistan :s try asking Amazon Uk or any website which is based in uk or france if they asnwers the same then pakistan government have some rules

you trust anything anyone says just cuz they have a rep. The person that I spoke to does not speak for everyone. From what Ive read on the Pakistani Customs website, it does not mention anything about or having a rule against importing a used cell phone into Pakistan. I have heard of people importing phones into PK before and not having any issues (like yamaha135). So its good to ask around before you just take someones word for it. Majority of times, its just their opinion.

I just want to make sure of couple of things. You shipped it through USPS not UPS? I have had things shipped with USPS to Attock before and they just delivered it to my house. I wasnt asked to go any where so they can open the package in front of me so they can inspect it. Did you have to go anywhere so they can open the package in your presence or did they do it at your house at the time of delivery? I know you said to ship it to Pakistan post, can you give me more details on it. I would like to call you to get more info so it could be easier. Let me know or sms me if i can call 0322-437-4332.

the box was taken from usps but it was booked through ups. sorry for the initial misguidance. the 1st package i received was delivered on my doorstep, they asked for my nic copy, anyone can accept the package as long as the nic copy or the original nic of the receiver is presented at the time. the 2nd package they called me and asked to come over at the pak post office located near jang press, i went there, verified the box and then they asked me to open it myself so they could declare the custom charges on the brand new items. they dont open the box till the actual receiver is present. the custom charges were alot less than i expected.

what if someone send you as a gift labeled on it by ups

and dhl works like that as well ? if that so then i would love to buy something like cellphone

as i have seen on the website cellphones are just charged 500 custom duty
