Yes. But those can be counted on fingers in NYC only 5 years ago. Now I need several hundred fingers to count. Only on Queens Blvd. known as " boulevard of death". About 26 ( in a 10 mile stretch). From queens boro bridge to union turnpike .

Speed cameras are next.

There had been 3 fatal accidents on this intersection plus numerous running red lights.

The red signal is for pedestrian crossing. And I got the red light camera ticket also on the same intersection.

North and south side ( both directions ) cameras are active..

We have these in my town too , Population of my town is 275,000.00 Due to Hotel and Subway business I am known in town with pretty good name by the grace of ALLAh, The other day the Poilce officer was at my Hotel and he was saying to one on my employee when we SYED's car on road we just close our eyes he is always over 15mph speed limit, I got green light when I am in Porsche or my Corvette...Porsche stay in 2nd gear if I drop it 3rd gear its knocks...too much power in this baby

Here in Jeddah from last year the number of cameras increases too much... and We all know that Saudia is on top of the list in Fatal accidents.... There are three or four intersections which are mostly in my use normally on weekends and each intersection has at least 9 to 10 cameras on signals... and on highway only two cameras are there in a range of 30 to 40 kms along with undercover speed chasers and camera cars (which are Sonata, Innova, Pegeout Vans, Corolla, Crown victoria, Camry, Rav4, Nissan pathfinder, Nissan Xtrial and Nissan Xterra).... With the introduction of camera the accident ratio just only in Eid days (three days of Eid) decreased and came to 6% which always higher.... And ALHAMDULILLAH I havent got any ticket uptil now ...

It's because that's Queens Blvd, very dangerous road to cross! Srry to reply very late. I even heard that NYSDOT wanted to convert this major road into a limited highway, like parkways.

It's 12 lanes in total. 6 eachway. Lot of traffic. It can't be converted to Parkway due to commercial and residential streets connecting to Queens Blvd. Cross street every 200/300 feet. That's the reason so many cameras. It's known as Death Boulevard! Search in Google and it will show up.
