Assalam O Alaikum Pak wheelers.

I wanted to buy a car for my family. after researching in market I have 2 options in mind.
HONDA BRV OR TOYOTA COROLLA GLI.

Please guide me. I want a car should be fuel efficient, Durable and a good resale value.

Note: I prefer cars in Manual transmission. and also can you please guide me is manual is ok or should I go for a change and buy the Automatic transmission.

If you have family of more than 5 then go for BRV for being 7 seater. If not then GLI is better. Gli also comes in auto. Ease and comfort in auto more then manual. But recommend to go for altis 1.6. It is hot cake and best value of money if you can't afford Grande. It has huge resale value.

For Karachi ki sarkain etc Corolla is theeeeee best option.
You can get manual or auto whichever you like buy if you take auto in a city like Karachi i dont it will give you more than 10-12kmpl.
If you can go up a little Altis 1.6 is the best value for money and has better mileage than Auto Gli.

For family size more than 5, you have no choice left, go for BRV but keep one thing in mind, people will say shit about it after you buy it and will discourage you to the point some people end up hating and selling their car. It comes with CVT transmission due to which car shows lag during pick ups. Once you know how CVT works and why it is designed, you might not hate it that much as Japanese are not fools to install CVT and watch Pakistanis talk shit about it. CVT uses steel belt and pulleys instead of conventional gears so there is no jerk while shifting from one gear to another, in fact there is no shifting from one gear to another at all but that comes with price, (noise and lag). CVT shows better figures compared to conventional auto transmission when it comes to gas milage. So you increase comfort and fuel economy on cost of noise and a bit lag. CVT is relatively newer technology and might improve its noise and lag problems in future.

Sir. Thanks for a good suggeestion and your opinion. Yes that's true that people is talking the shit about car even I am just discussing with them about the car.

And Sir I read reviews about the car on pakwheels review sections to get comments from the owners of this car. I think that manual car would give more petrol average then automatic one. Is that true???

Yes, normally manual car gives more petrol average than automatic car but that's where CVT comes in. CVT is designed to reduce the gap between mileage of manual and auto transmission. I think in mileage Manual>CVT>Auto transmissions. CVT will give you better mileage if you drive it the way it is supposed to be, it will give mileage almost NEAR manual, not as much as manual but near manual's mileage.
