Hi-Octane Availability Thread

I am new to Lahore, live in DHA Phase 5, I understand many people may have this problem across Pakistan. I don't know why companies do this or if this is a city wide phenomena, shamefully I have had a hard time finding hi octane here in Lahore. There should be a thread on the availability of Hi Octane updated when someone finds it available, considering the kind of shortage we are facing nowadays!

Now coming to my immediate question, I thought electricity and gas were the only problems of Lahore but it seems Hi Octane is a seldom thing to come by here. I am constantly running my car in ds mode because of knocking and I don't know how JDM's survive here. Even the ordinary fuel here is so polluted its not even funny. My car never knocked in idle revving and it happily does that now on Lahore fuel.

Khuda ka wasta hai koi bataday defence aur uskay mazaffaat mein hi octane kaha milay ga? Both PSO's on the entry points of DHA are without HOBC since ages now. I am willing to travel 30-50 km's if I can be guaranteed proper hi octane.

Its been a month or two since Hi Octane is scarce in Lahore. Only a few pumps claim to have it - check Battleaxe on Shami Road or Total on M M Alam Road.

Mostly high octane is delivered after 25 of every month and there is a quota for every site when there is a price down dealers don't make orders from last two months petrol prices are going down

What I am about is the wholesale shortage of hi octane in Lahore even in the most posh areas. Total sells super in the name of hi octane why would I waste my time there? Consider the fact that their super is lower quality than even PSO's super, that hi octane is worth crap. It would be great if you could post a google maps link to the location you are speaking about and I will be sure to check it out.

We have company owned and run pumps in islamabad at places.

Attock pump in F-11 islamabad sells the finest fuel in the region.

i would advise you to call PSO or TOTAL or SHELL (lahore) and double check with them and ask them which pumps are company run as the quality you are looking for wont be available at franchises pumps.

whenever i get fuel from franchise PSO my cars have really bad mileage and whevener i get fuel from attock f-11 i get superior mileage.

its been long since i ever been to any pump other thn Attock (which is company run/maintained)

In fact I have been to the one you spoke about, even it has usually gotten a print out saying hi octane not available.

Went to the cavalry ground pso station and spoke to some guy there asked him what is up, he says that hi octane only arrives at the depot for one day and thats all we get and there is no timeline when we will get it again it's just for a day or two at most. The only option left is the zoom pump on mm alam road.

I get Hi Octane from Total Ghazi road. I got it on last saturday. They had just gotten Hi Octane and there was a long line of people for Hi Octane. Hence, it doesn't last long. I even checked Model town this week. They didn't have it either. Your best bet is to meet the incharge there. Give him a generous tip once or twice and exchange phone numbers. Tell him too call you as soon as he get's it, cause it doesn't last long. A lot of people do this.

ATTOCK fuel has lots and lots of lead. It will choke your CATCON pretty fast. Beware.

My car barely knocks on Hi Octane. On normal petrol, it does. Total Hi Octane is good given the choices we have. Sure! I'm PMing you my number. Leave me a message. I will let you know if I'm able to get Hi Octane anywhere.

Exactly i am using Hi Octane from Total Kalma Chowk, But it feels like Super. Car Drives as on simple Fuel. Little Knocking is there.

Total badnaam-e-zamana petrol hai, after having knocking problem I have went through many pumps and petrols. Only PSO company pumps come on top. I suggest you get your fuel filled from cavalry ground PSO, I am on their super since past two tanks owing to shortage of hi octane the knocking is there but it is manageable. If it were shell or total the knocking would be there on a wider rpm range. For me managing knocking is simple I have to keep my foot a little harder on the throttle unlike the feather touch with hi octane to resist knocking. I am thinking of trying a octane booster if I can find one cheap. If anyone knows the chemical market in Lahore I am willing to tag along with them, we might as well buy toulene if it can be had for cheap. That should take care of any hi octane shortage or quality issues.

Have u checked Caltex F 10 markaz?

Apparently hi octane only arrives twice a month. Thanks to uncertainty about price it is not imported as much as people would want it to. Pumps run out of 10,000 litres a day. Dates for it's arrivals are unknown, best option is pay out fuel attendant but hasnt worked for me.
