HID lights Heating headlights

Aoa! I installed HID lights few months back in my Prius’14. The HID’s are of Good quality with a voltage of 150 watts which i think are normal. Is it okay with HID’s to heat up the headlights of car a little especially in Summers? Please give Advice!

150W HID's will produce enough heat to melt your Headlights. If your Prius has Projector headlights, the HID's will burn the chrome causing the light to fade overtime. This is permanent damage and the only solution to this is to swap out the Projectors or change the whole Headlights.
Also, if your HID is Chinese (even if it's not), there is no way that it's 150W.

Does changing projectors will solve the problem? If yes then how can I differentiate between good and bad quality projectors?

Do you have a problem with your headlights currently? The only way to check is to open the Projectors and check their chrome reflector.

Hids are total crap of a product..it teases others badly and also damage ur light housing as well..150w lol that's not normal btw..thats enough heat to permanently damage ur headlight. Imagine if hids were ever a useful product...oem manufactor would have given it. People should be put in jail with phaintii on using hids. Reason i hate them is my friend almost lost his life due to these... sorry if i hurt ur feelings. Use LEDs nif u need white light.mat max....oem configuration is always best.

I have no problem with the headlights they’re working fine. Last night when i parked at home I touched the headlights and felt that they were heated, not that much but still why would the headlights get heated.
Anyways I’m looking forward to replace them.

I know bro it’s totally unethical. I use them on low beam while the full beam lights of my car are still on halogen lamps. Can you please suggest which Led lights are better for headlights?

For LED, I use Photum bulbs. And the HID's I use are OEM Denso 35W.

My 2010 prius headlight projectors are gone, very dim light. Is it possible to replace the projectors, can the projectors be removed from the headlight housing for inspection?
Would appreciate your opinion & advice.

First replace the bulbs and see if the light output gets better.
